To Pizza or not To Pizza
After working late and coming home to a messy kitchen, I have just clicked to confirm my order with Dominos Pizza. I have done well today on calories-- and now I am trying to justify getting ready to consumer 600+ calories on junk. any advice --
Chew slowly, savor the flavor, lol and chug some water so you don't go overboard. ![]()
Or have a small handful of nuts at least 15 minutes before the pizza arrives to let your brain register the food.
Quickly put whatever you aren't going to eat into the fridge (or better yet the freezer) - so, you aren't as tempted to go back for 2nd, 3rd, etc helpings :)
I always have a weird way of eating my pizza - first I pick off all the toppings, then whatever is left of the cheese, then lick off the sauce and finally eat the crust. Yes, I'm strange - but it takes me awhile to eat a piece of pizza!
Alright, I brought home a salad and your right chugging water and chew slowly. As long as i don't reverse those I may still stay within my range!!
Thanks, I feel better and a little more confident about facing pizza night.
Good idea!
What a way to only have one slice.
Next time you go grocery shopping get a Digiorno Harvest Wheat Thin Crust Supreme Pizza(cheese sausage and lots of veggies). These pizzas are my solutions on nights when I don't want to make dinner. You can actually eat half the pizza for 625 calories. My husband and I share one pizza.. so I usually do eat just under half of it. Pair it with a salad and its a good meal and you get your pizza fix! I make sure I always have one in the fridge that way I can avoid calling the delivery guy...
I think without the guilt holding me back from speaking to someone on the phone saying "yes, id like my extra large mega maxi quattro formaggio pizza please.. with extra cheese. ...aaand a tub of ben and jerrys" It really is all too easy to order!
I try to keep a stock in my freezer of personal size pizzas (usually BBQ chicken) and I make a pound of broccoli to go with it. If I eat the entire pound of broccoli and still want the other 1/2 of the pizza then I go ahead and eat it. The personal pizzas are the only way I can keep a reasonable amount of pizza.
dominos are one of my vices, the online ordering should be banned !!!
i can easily finish a twelve inch plus chicken strippers in quick time. Havent had one in a while but they are so addictive
I love pizza but what I do to satisfy my craving is to get a Lean Cuisine or SBD pizza. That usually hits the spot for me...
Suggestion? I really really love pizza, and so I tried the Lean Cuisine pizza's and they are soooooo good and filling!! They're like 239 calories each I think and i like the margheritta one, and the veggie. It's awsome you should try it, and it's alot cheaper than dominos!!
really 239???? I will look into those. Pizza night annoys me to no end. Here I am paying $20-$30 for something that we will only get one meal out of and it is loaded with calories!!

that's totally my trick...although i have it with a big salad. i've lost almost 30 pounds eating pizza several times a week. i like the kashi frozen pizzas...and amy's just started making a low sodium spinach pizza that rocks.
The thin crust harvest wheat ones are good - I like chicken with spinach and peppers... however... a guilt-free lunch option:
- 1 WW Pita (~150 Cals)
- 2 tbsps Sodium-reduced, low-cal pizza sauce (~30 Cals)
- onions, green and red peppers, lots of mushrooms, tomatoes (Virtually no Cals)
- And a light dusting of part-skim mozzarella cheese. (~50 - 100 Cals depending on how far you go)
This is by far, my favorite lunch. I pile it high with tomatoes and mushrooms and is competely guilt free at around 250-280 Calories. Occasionally, I'll throw on some leftover chicken from the night before (2 oz - 100 Cals) or a slice or two of deli turkey breast (30 - 45 Cals) Pair it with carrots/celery sticks and FF dressing for a great lunch.
