Pizza Hut Pan vs Thin 'n crispy
We enjoy taking the kids to Pizza Hut on Fridays for their lunch buffet. I always got thin n crispy pizza because I like the crust better and I thought it was a better choice (less in calories) than pan (thicker). But in the CC food list, a large pepperoni pan pizza slice has less calories than a large thin 'n crispy pepperoni pizza slice. How is that even possible? There is so much less crust. Is that a mistake or am I just living in denial all these years?
lmao ironically, my local pizza hut has just bloody burnt down. i'm sure they got bloody speedy service. haha.
but i prefer thin'n'crispy too, and so does my mum! i dont know what it is, but stuffed crusts and all this pepperoni and cheese actually in the crust, aswell as deep pan, they just seem gluttonous. and whats the point of having a topping, if the toppings in the base? and deep pan, i've never been a fan of anyway, because it's like eating a bloody hot sandwich then - like a loaf of bread with hot filling, yet it's open. it's just weird. i'd say thin'n'crispy's definitly better, and you don't feel as bloated after. haha, which means, as majorie dawes off little britain said 'you can eat twice as much!'. lmao. you cant really. dont worry. well, you can, but then you will be bloated, so that would just be stupid. :) xx.
If you look on the Pizza Hut website, I'm sure you'll discover that thin crust has less calories. :P Go for the thin crust. What this site says is probably wrong; pan crust is not only thick, but usually oily as well.
I just looked it up on the pizza hut site, and here's the scoop:
1 slice from 12" Thin'n'crispy pepperoni = 77g (weight), 210 cals, 10g fat, 4.5g sat fat, 640mg sodium, 21 grams carbs, 10 grams protein
1 slice from 12" pepperoni pan pizza = 102g (weight), 280 cals, 14g fat, 5g sat fat, 640mg sodium, 27g carbs, 12g protein
Thanks for looking it up. Now I know. I would have thought there would be even less in thin crust than pan. Now a I know! Thanks.
Thin is my favorite. I agree, the pan is too oily.

haha! i love it, even if it wasnt intentional! pizza and ice cream, how perfect :) xx.
Ohh, pizza. I love it. When I order I ask for half the cheese and get veggies, no meat. Papa John's just came out with a whole wheat crust I may try one this weekend.
Usually i get the thin and crispy with 1/2 the cheese like everyone is saying. I like just cheese so i dont get any other toppings.
don't domino's pizza have this option where when you ring up for a takeaway, or order at the actual place i suppose, that you can opt for the low-fat mozzarella cheese topping anyway?
i've never actually had the pleasure of having a domino's. we have one within three miles, but we dont really order out, because we're s**t poor. lmao. and takeaways are incredibly unhealthy, but they're alright for an indulgence, and if you can't be arsed going out for the indulgence. last time we ordered out was maybe two months ago, for the first time EVER - i'd never actually lived in a house where we ordered out, amazing, i know - and we opted for a chinese instead of the domino's. it was just far too expensive, and we surmised that the chinese would be a tiny bit more healthier than the domino's. plus, if my mum had've caught me ordering the low-fat mozarella, she'd have complained like a bald man without a henry hoover. wait, what?? xx.
Making your own pizza can be alot healthier. But it is never as good, is it? I never thought about asking for 1/2 the cheese. I'll have to try it next time. Chinese sounds yummy!
I make my own too. I use low cal tomato sauce and sprinkle with garlic and onion powered. Top it with mushrooms, peppers, olives and tomatoes. Bake it up. No cheese and it is delicious.
I work in the kitchen in Pizza Hut!!
(albeit in the UK) ..and I can honestly say that deep pan is not a good way to go.. The reason it seems so greasy is because the pan gets a good couple of pumps of oil in the bottom, I can't remember exactly how much it is in volume, but its a lot of oil. I'd never eat one personally!
We get a free pizza every shift. I think tonight I might actually try one without cheese. I've been a veggie most of my life so I don't really know what pepperoni/beef/ham etc tastes like.. I'm glad I don't know what I'm missing!
By the way, in terms of toppings calories/healthiness, you should know that margarita (just cheese on top) pizzas get 50% extra cheese added to make them look good, to compensate for no toppings. They don't tell you this! It is company standards, but it isn't obvious when you are served your pizza. So if you just like it plain cheese and tomato, you are actually better off getting tomato chunks as a topping rather than having margarita.
Why should I gain weight if I'm not significantly underweight?
Actually, at 5 feet 5.25 inches and 96 - 98 pounds, your weight is below the healthy weight range for your height and age. There are... Read more
