I like to use (canned)  chopped tomatoes blended with tomato puree and italian herbs as the first layer and then some sliced buffalo mozarella, smoked ham and spanish chorizo sausage 'coins' on the top.  A good trickle of olive oil and plenty of black pepper over the whole thing for extra moistness and flavour....

TIP.... don't overload your pizza base with too much 'stuff' or it just ends up soggy...

I love using pineapple, smoked ham, and spinach on my homemade pizza.

BUFFALO MOZZARELLA? That sounds amazing!

My favorite pizza is crispy, well done with pepperoni and extra black olives. Boring? Maybe. Simple? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely.

Edit: Healthy? Hmm probably not so much.

i love mushrooms on my pizza, my kids like pineapple and broccoli

I love a lot of spice so I make mine with sliced jalapenos, bell pepper, and onion...

on a thin tomatoe sauce base add spinach, goats cheese and red onion marmalade, garnish with black olives.

Taco seasoned ground bison, peppers, black beans, tomato sauce and cheese on homemade (mostly)whole wheat crust.

I'm making stir fry tonight but I think I'm goingot have to make pizza tomorrow after reading all these suggestions Smile

thinly sliced potatoes

My fave pizza is Margherita...  It's very simple and delicious.  Finely chop a ripe tomato for the sauce.  Top with strips of fresh basil and a few pieces of buffalo mozzarella (will melt and spread out as you cook it).  Drizzle with olive oil or (do like I do) and spray with olive oil spray before popping into the oven.

If you want something a little different, go for a Thai pizza!  Use a peanut sauce, then top with shredded mozzarella, shredded carrot, and bean sprouts.   You can also add cooked chicken if you eat meat (I don't, and it's great without it)  Top with chopped cilantro after it's cooked.

My favorite pizzas:

Pepperoni, green olive and garlic (turkey pepperoni is okay, but it's not the same :( )

Thinly sliced eggplant, caramelized onion and garlic

Green bell pepper, ham, pineapple and garlic

Plain jane cheese

Especially when making pizza at home, I put on green bell peppers, onions, pineapple, garlic and whatever cheese is there.  Sometimes if I happen to have it available, I put on diced tomatoes. :3  Gotta love a home made pizza.

Really?  I liked turkey pepperoni very much.  This thread is making me hungry for homemade pizza!  Maybe the kids and I will make some this weekend.

I like mine covered with veggies, most notably bell peppers and onions, with crushed red pepper sprinkled on top and other various leafy herbs. When I'm in the mood, I might sneak in some pepperoni, but for the most part I've always liked my pizza with mostly veggies.

I make mine on whole wheat crust... for toppings I use crab, artichoke hearts and zuchinni.... I know it sounds weird, but so good! and low fat cheese

This is very popular in my area:  crab pizza.

Basically just make your crust, and make a crab dip  recipe (one that gets baked) and bake it on the crust with an extra layer of cheddar on top!

That's my guilty one,  the nice one is:

roasted red peppers, feta or ricotta, spinach, mushrooms, with Parmesan on top.

why not go out to a local pizza place, NY style super greasy beyond large pizzas, THAT is a pizza! yum, so glad i live rt there!

Pineapple & hot peppers - love the sweet /spicy combo!

I like veggies on my pizza: spinach, bell pepper, olives, mushrooms, onion

I also like meat in addition to the veggies: pepperoni or italian sausage crumbles

Cheese is usually mozzarella.

And load it up with garlic!

White pizza: olive oil for the "sauce", minced garlic on that, top with mozzarella, sprinkle with some basil and oregano...mm-mmm delicious..plus it'll keep people away from you :P

I had pizza the other night loaded up with fresh pressed garlic. It was amazing!
