Plastic surgery-What are your experiences?
I saw a plastic surgeon today and he's recommending a lower body lift with a tummy tuck. I don't know anyone who has undergone this and want some feedback. I wonder if all this surgery is really worth it?
Never had it but if i had the money to do so i would in a heartbeat.
I've got 25-40 lbs. to go and I will definitely be going under the knife. I'm not going to have lost 100+ lbs. to live life in a healthier body that looks like crap.
My mom lost around 150 lbs. and maintained for a few years before she had a breast reduction/lift. The pain factor was minimal she said, and she had to have drainage tubes for a bit. 2 years later, she still says she'd do it again in a heartbeat. Now she's just saving $$$ for the tummy tuck.
There are a couple other threads about this and I think someone posted about having a tummy tuck. I haven't looked for it but if you search you can probably find it.

Thank you all for the feedback. I really thought that once I lost the weight, all would be fine. I'm finding that there's just a new set of challenges.
Has your doc said how much it's going to cost?
www.realself.com has a great plastic surgery forum, before & after pics, and lots of plastic surgeon members who are eager to answer questions about everything. There's also a handy "average cost" map (like this one for botox) (or this one for tummy tuck) so you can make sure you are paying a price that is reasonable for your area.
Yes, he said new boobs were be $7500. This would include the reduction, lift and implants. I was surprised because I thought that a reduction and lift would be all I needed....and insurance might cover that. Dr. Poggi asked me was my goals were- really what was I after because a reduction and lift would not return my breast back to what they were. He told me that the reduction and lift would help but not make them perky, etc-only implants could provide a true lift. I guess my breast tissue have slid that far down my chest. I was disappointed a bit at first because I thought insurance would cover the cost and I'll have back a great breast. Wrong! But I decided that even just having them smaller would allow my to run again and ditch the horrible bras.
So, while I'm thinking about the $7500.00 for the new boobs, Dr. Poggi suggest that I consider a "lower body lift". It's a tummy tuck with a new butt and lateral thighs for $12000.00. He thought that I needed that more than the breast sugery. He also told me I would need about 3 weeks of rest as well.
I live in Kansas and I think those prices are much lower than anywhere else. However, I still don't know where to get the 12G. It will take me awhile to save and I want a new butt now!
Wow! Thanks for posting the links-great information. It was exactlly what I was looking for. Thanks for posting!
