Plateau? Lets break it together!

Quote  |  Reply

I have reached a plateau since beginning this diet in January - I started at 171 lbs and i am now hovering between 150-152 and i am 5'5".

I definately need some motivation to get over this hump. Who wants to join me???

I have 15 lbs more to go, and I can not wait to rid myself of them.

Let's share our strategies and support - weigh in once a week on fridays and blow our plateaus to shreds!

Anyone Game?

Pizza and two nights of drinking did me in! I gained 3 lbs overnight! - from the salty pizza, ravioli, garlic bread and salty margarita i had - along with only about 48oz of liquid.

I am so dehydrated... blah. I got in a good workout today, plus i am planning on swimming at my parents house today for father's day festivities. Hopefully that will burn off some excess calories!

So, i really need to kick my own behind and get back on the wagon.

I got in a good workout today, did about an hour of cardio and 20 minutes of strength training. I feel good about that at least.

Today is a new day...Time to try to start over.... again.

hi!!

as told earlier i'm still stuck up at 159lbs.i've tried to zig zag my calories and even changing my exercise routine but nothing is helping i'm drinking lots of water as well but no success can u please guide what should i do i'm really so depressed that i don't even feel like doing exercise & calorie counting....pls help me break the plateau.....feel like crying

This past weekend I decided to eat maintenance. Did over 2000, 2 days and am down 1lbs from Friday?! Guess I'll have to wait and see if it sticks.

Going running this afternoon. Yay!

Don't give up sonam77!  I have been stuck in a plateau since December...keep plugging away, especially at the exercise.  Maybe try looking at what you eat.  Do you snack a lot on chips/cookies?  Do you drink juices or soda?  I quit all of that stuff except on very special circumstances, and also changed things like white bread to wheat bread...white rice to brown rice....things like that helped to break my plateau in the past.  Most recently I think the reason for my plateau is that I'm already at a healthy weight, so now if I want to lose more, I really have to be mindful of what I'm eating. Diet is 80% of weightloss success (something like that...that's what cc says)  Main thing is that you don't give up!  Hang in there!

thanks burnyh!

i hope i don't fall off the wagon...well am really upset n trying very hard to stay focussed but this scale takes my breath away every morning & spoils my whole day......

I am officially 4 days without pop.  I know, 4 days may not seem like a lot to some, but I usually drink quite a bit.  In fact, I have joked often about needing an IV set up to accomodate my Diet Pepsi addiction.   Here's to hoping no pop will blow a hole in this stinking plateau.

i was tired of trying to break my plateau yesterday only i've started my detox diet for 7 days i hope this would help me......

Hey guys :)

Sorry I've been slacking for a few days... I seem to have hit another (hopefully smaller) plateau right around 128lbs. But you know, when I was working out last night, I looked at myself and honestly thought "You know, if I didn't lose another pound, I'd still be really happy with myself". Of course I do want to lose another - 3 more anothers. But I do feel really good about myself now :) Much better proportioned and I'm starting to see a little tone.

I went to the doctor Monday to get a few recent problems checked out... it was my first visit to a new doctor, but he was really nice. I was amused and a bit proud when he was poking around my abdomen to check that everything was okay and looked up at my mom to say "Man, its good to be young! You could bounce a quarter off that!"

That was kind of cool to hear :D I responded "Hey, that's got nothing to do with youth, i've been working hard for that!" lol. He got a laugh out of it too. Hehe... maybe I can get some more-visible toning on my tummy before the summer is over. ;)

Hope everyone is doing well with breaking out of their plateaus. Love2hate, good luck with the soda thing - that's harder than it seems! I've accidentally sent myself into caffiene withdrawl like 4 times. Whoops.

I got some SUPER GREAT FANTABULOUS AWESOME . . . (searches for more adjectives which is difficult to do while jumping and typing) . . . NEWS!

168.6!   I broke the plateau!

I feel more motivated then ever.  I almost jumped from my scale right onto my treadmill.  But, instead I will wait until my husband heads to work.  I leave for Orlando on Saturday.   I would love to push just a little lower before my trip.

Congrats love2hatetreadmills! and good job on the pop!

I have a feeling I may have broken though my plateau also. Last Friday I was 163. The last 2 days have been 161.5Surprised. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope the scale is moving for everyone! Have a good day

Hi everyone, I am stuck still at 157ish.....I seem to loose a few pounds and then NOTHING for another month...I wighed 172-174 in Dec. then in Jan I started counting calories and walking and working out (at home) I have lost 17 pounds since then....This morning I felt like just giving up.....really...I probably could use some motivation too......

DON"T GIVE UP!!!!

I have been there.  Heck,  I was there until like 2 days ago.   Work and work and work and nothing.  But, it WILL happen.  You already made great progress 173 to 157.  You know you can.  Maybe just change up your workouts some and keep trudging.

yes!!! I could break my plateau I wast stuck at 159 lbs today i weighed 156 lbs....i feel like jumping since i was stuck at 159 lbs for last 6 weeks.....

Hi all -

I've been so busy with work - meetings, phone ringing non stop, interviews etc, that i've had to bring work home - so not much time to catch up on here.

Love - i am super excited for you breaking your plateau. You have been working so hard and you deserve it! Good job with giving up soda, you are going to be glad you did. I can hardly stomach soda now that i quit it - i drink fresca to get the taste of something bubbly - but only 1 can a day - 5 days a week.  usually don't drink it that often, but that's my max since its pretty sugary.

The scale moved for me to yesterday! down to 148.4 and holding still today! I am excited to see what the weekend brings - thats normally when i lose the most - (probably from sleeping in through breakfast!)

You all are doing so great! Don't give up!!!!

I'm 95% sure that I have broken the plateau!  I was 155-157 for 5 or 6 weeks, then dropped to 153.6, only to hit TOTM bump two days later.  But that's over now, and I'm back to 153.6 this morning.  If I'm down at least into the 152's next week, I'll officially declare victory.

Omg! 159.5 stared back at me on the scale this morning. I almost cried!

After freaking out a little- 3.5lbs in a week? Due to plateau?

Keeping my fingers crossed that it's real!

Hope all your scales are being nice to you too!

Congrats Immom & Sharz!

My friday weigh in is 169.2.   A little up from the last two mornings.   I am not sure why.  Despite my psycho cravings, I kept myself under 1500 calories yesterday.  Maybe too much salt.  Who knows.  At least that 7 didn't come back.

Just thought I would check in...I am still the same I am thinking it may be a few things for me this week. I dont ever put salt on my food....But I found these really nummy natural salt & pepper poofy chips and they were good but they might have done me in......And I dont really have a period becasue of my birthcontrol but I get some pre-symptoms like bloating...So I am going to do my best to not get toooo much more discouraged...Thanks for the support....hope you all have a good day :)

I was not happy... Back at 150.2 this morning. I did have nachos for dinner last night... Maybe too much salt... Who knows...

Ugh!

I've been weighing myself daily since i started on CC - I'm trying something different this week - no scale until friday!!! I hope i will be surprised when i weigh again, and i hope i can fight the habit to weigh each morning.
