going out for grad dinner with my family...no idea what to get that won't ruin my diet.  Please don't tell me to just "let loose" or "count it as a cheat meal" because I've been cheating all week and will be drinking later...we're leaving in about 20 minutes.

any advice would be beyond helpful...I'm so lost!

Well just have a glass of water and save your calories for booze.

Seriously --- your family is taking you out for a graduation dinner.  It's a once (maybe twice) in a lifetime event.  Even if you have cheated all week, one more meal is not going to make a difference.

If you really care about your health, pick something relatively healthy and then don't drink a ****load of calories later.

I'm sorry, but I just don't get it... maybe I'm too old.

Look over the menu and try to make fairly lean choices.  Don't go for the cream sauce, etc.  Avoid desert, or if you must, share with someone.

Some good options would include:

- Kalamata lives

- Taramosalata Dip (ask for cruditee instead of bread if you can)

- Shrimp Opa "Garides" (ask for no feta)

- Kalamata Olive Dip (ask for cruditee instead of bread if you can)

- Seasonal Wilted Greens "Horta"

- Grilled Octopus (if you're cringing - it's actually remarkably DELICIOUS!)

- Green Salata "Elliniki" (no feta and sauce on the side)

- Salmon Lemonato
