Please don't let Splenda products fool you.
Ummm... all that Splenda KILLED me. I cut it out two days ago and I'm still suffering the side effects.
Splenda is poison. Look it up on google. It's very harmful, and I don't recommend it in any form, except in serious moderation.
Side effects? Well, since you asked...
- diarrhea
- extreme headache
- missed period ??? (not sexually active right now. odd.)
- gas
- stomach cramping, especially while sleeping
- muscle fatigue
- irritability
Maybe you are allergic to something.
Seriously, unless you know exactly what you are talking about, you shouldn't go giving ominous warnings to the general public. Boo.
Type in "splenda side effects" to google, because the list of websites goes on and on and on.
Check this if you still think I'm allergic to something:

It could not have been the dairy because that was the only dairy product you consume? That does not make sense, to me that makes it more likely that you could have lactose problems.
You are saying that this product was the only one that a) contained splenda and b) was dairy. I am not saying that splenda did not do this to you, but it could just as easily have been the dairy. Try a yogurt with sugar and see if you get the same results. If so, it was probably the dairy.
Im pretty sure most of those symptoms are indications of some kind of lactose issue as well....may want to think about other options before posting something like this........
btw..i use splenda daily (not a lot..but still..) and i have ZERO issues....
besides, im pretty sure if you pump lab rats full of anything, itll cause some type of side effect...
Have you spoken to your doctor about this? If not, then you should probably do so since you were having such bad symptoms.
my ass.
Another thing is that people see Splenda as an invitation to abuse because of the lack of calories- 3 packets with their coffee, sugar-free drinks with Splenda throughout the day, etc. Anytime you injest that much of something, there could be a problem.
Plenty of people use Splenda & don't have those effects, so you really can't go around telling everyone to stop using it.

a food allergy causes panic attacks?
my ass.
I had never heard of food allergies or food intolerances causing panic attacks either but after a quick google I found this:
http://www.allergy.org.uk/food_allergy.htm
"There are few food allergens that cause antigen/antibody reactions - shellfish and peanuts are perhaps the best known, indeed some food intolerance sufferers have no classical allergies and for this reason may never suspect that their arthritis, migraine or panic attacks are caused by an unusual reaction to common foods."
http://www.healthrecipes.com/allergy_symptoms .htm
Food Intolerance Symptoms
Mind, emotions and behaviour - Just one of the many mentioned is panic attacks.
http://www.mindxpansion.com/panic/
"Panic attacks can be caused by excessive stress and also food intolerance."http://www.fedupwithfoodadditives.info/factsh eets/Factallergy.htm
"Food intolerance reactions can be the same as above, as well as:
skin (rashes, swelling)airways (asthma, stuffy or runny nose, frequent colds and infections)gastrointestinal tract(irritable bowel symptoms, colic, bloating, diarrhea, vomiting, frequent mouth ulcers, reflux, bedwetting, 'sneaky poos', 'sticky poos')central nervous system (migraines, headaches, anxiety, depression, lethargy, impairment of memory and concentration, panic attacks, irritability, restlessness, inattention, sleep disturbance, restless legs, moodswings, PMT).Symptoms of food intolerance can come and go and change throughout life."
Since I am not a doctor nor professional in this field I can not say that panic attacks can/cannot be attributed to food allergies or intolerances... just simply stating what I found by searching on the internet.
I become absolutley exhausted. I will have to keep laying down. The first time was slimfast and I just by chance read an article about how some people react to splenda. Several other times when the fatigue came on I would go thru the fringe and find out if there was any splenda in it and each time there was.
I totally support folks researching splenda for its side affects.

Just my opinion....
nothing seems to stir the pot any better or faster then the ol' artificial sweetener or not discussions ![]()
When I first, and finally, figured out that I had a reaction to aspertame (Equal) I wanted to *shout it from the rooftops* that it was eeeeeeeeeeeeevil! I would cringe everytime my husband would allow me the sugar at a restaurant for my coffee and take the little blue packet. I don't want anyone in my house using it!
But after a couple years to kind of chill out about it I say to each his own. Although I am still glad to see the warnings. Had someone pointed me in the right direction years ago as to what was triggering my migraines I would have loved to have known it. Who would have guessed it?
As far as Splenda or any of the other artificial sweeteners go, I'm scared to death to ever try them. I mean, we're talking bring me to my knees-aura inducing-sweating-nausea-spinning room-ice pick in the brain-you're breathing too loud and nighlight is too bright migraines with the aspertame. That'd be like trying to get a person that knows they'll poof up like a balloon when they eat shrimp to try a bite of lobster!
So if you're happy with the sweeteners and able to process them -- Kudos.
But to those out there that may have had an odd reaction after ingesting one of them, try cutting them out and seeing if it helps your symptoms.
Knowlege is power ![]()
I eat it all the time and dont have any problems (cook with it, its in my normal foods, and all the other things).
Just because you have a reaction ( or so you think...could be all the other many many ingredients in it... or even not the food itself and something else going on...) it doesnt mean everyone will.
My mother has huge problems with caffeine, one cup of coffee and she is bouncing off the walls for hours ... gets back headaches...and all kinds of other issues....Where as i can drink several liters of caffeine soda and easily go to bed half an hour later. That she has issues with caffeine doesnt mean its bad, caffeine is fine for the body... hers just has abnormal trouble with it (and i have abnormal non-reaction to it).

That makes it sound to me like it quite possiby IS the dairy. You have no dairy control group.
For example, if you ate yogurts without Splenda and DIDN'T ever have any bad effects, then you'd have something sort of resembling "scientific proof". I mean, not really, but WAY closer than your above statement.
If it affects you badly, don't eat it. I've been eating and drinking products with artificial sweeteners all the way from Splenda today back to SACCHARIN, and I have never had one problem. So it isn't POISON, or it would be bad for everybody.
Ahhh, yet another overly-dramatic anti-artificial-sweetener thread.
And the Oscar goes to ...
Honestly anything and everything one puts into their body is going to have an effect rather it good or bad. My husband has been using Splenda for nearly a year now and he has had no negative side effects from it at all. He subsitutes it in for sugar everytime as do my in laws, including baking with it and they neither have had an ounce of problem. What affects me may not affect you and even if it affects Jenny down the road it might not be in the same way. I would personally say if you are an avid user, enjoy it and have had no unhealthy side effects from it - don't stress it. Too many other more important things to stress or fret about in life lol.
**Personally I don't like it I can tell the difference from sugar
