Please help!

I'm going out to this restaurant: http://www.muffuletta.com/ Tomorrow for a bridal shower at lunch time.  I am horrible at figuring out calorie content of foods that do not directly provide the info to you.   Can anyone look at their lunch menu (http://www.muffuletta.com/menus/lunch.html) and make suggestions as to what food might be low calorie?

I'd like to eat ~500 calories and I also don't like seafood.

Thank you!

Maybe the Smoked Turkey Sandwich, without the bacon or mayonnaise? You could get mustard or something on it for flavour, but those two things really add up if you're not careful..

Other than that, you could try a fresh salad (NOT caesar) without bread crumbs and with the dressing on the side? I saw one there with a hard-boiled egg as one of the toppings, that would add some protein to the salad so you'd fill up on less calories.

Sorry I can't be of more help. :'(

Thanks for your input.. I was eyeing the Turkey Sandwich :)

No problem. Turkey's a good lean meat, plus the cheese sounds delicious.. Heh. Just have to watch the sodium in turkey.

I am from the twin cities and I love this restaurant.  They will prepare things for you the way you want them served.  Just ask, and then tip them nicely.  ASk for grilled fish, or steamed veggies or any combination of things you like.  They cook from scratch and will make what you would like to eat.

heh if i were you i'd get the muffuletta.. they are too good :) but since you're concerned about calories i'd say the turkey sandwich.

The lowest calorie items would be mixed green salad with dressing on the side, or the salmon salad with dressing on the side.

Pan roasted salmon sounds good. You may want to ask for minimal amounts of the balsamic reduction.

The Turkey sanwhich is going to be LOADED with calories. Bacon, Chipolte Mayo, Pepperjack cheese...yumm! If you order it without all the good stuff it may be fairly low, but 2 peices of non-calorie reduced bread are usually 70 or 80 calories each, sometimes more.

id go with a salad or the chicken sandwich. when you get the sandwich, eat only one slice of the bread to cut cals.

field greens salad would be my choice btw.

another suggestion-lets say you LOVE Caesar salads. well, ask for dressing on the side. then i add however much i want for the calories i want :) best to ask if it has bacon cause that adds tons of cals and then do without. ill either mix a tbs of dressing in the salad so i know approximate calories (probably 120 would be the highest per tbs if its creamy, or 60 if its light) or just dip the fork before bites. i love me some caesar :)

enjoy!

you could try the milton square burger, sans bun, or 1/2 bun......

Thank you all for your suggestions.  I ended up getting this fabulous 'pizza' type thing - it was on a pita type crust with apples, spinach, pine nuts and a glaze.  Absolutely wonderful - no idea what the calorie content was, but hey I enjoyed myself! :)
