please help me
Not posting this in the right forum but ou guys are like an encyclopedia on most things
Im an exchange student from Ireland currently studying in upstate New York and since American colleges have horrendous dining options ( at home in college, we have kitchens with all mod cons and cook for ourselves) my diet is limited. My diet everyday is along the lines of
Breakfast-grapefruit, melon, soymilk or fat free yougurt and some type of car like whole wheat bread/bagel/wrap
Dinner-Wrap, broccoli, carrots, eggwhite, bit of tuna, bit of rice, mandarin, sometimes tofu or chicken if it doesnt look too processed but the food options in this place are uncalled for
also-bananas, apples, nuts(almonds, sunflower seeds) are a predominnt part of my diet.
I drink plenty of water.
Thing is i eat the same food pretty much everyday-could this be the culptit. Its SMELLY!!!
Thanks in advance.
Richard

oh ok, i see. i dont really see anything that jumps out in the examples you gave. altho if some of those foods that sound healthy but if the quality is bad then you might have a problem. you might have a bacteria imbalance from foods fermenting in your gut. that's one possible problem. in which case getting some friendly bacteria into you might help, it would take a couple of weeks tho. or you may have something like ibs which can be irritated by certain foods. its really hard to say. do you have some sort of school dr you can go to, just to check things out?
Problem sorted-i was having WAY too much fiber for my system to handle. i eat good quality foods. Backed of now for 2 days from so much fiber and already a dramatic increase in quality. substituted appleas and pears for other fruits. cut back on the whole grains and substituted the brocilli and eggwhites for other veg.

oh yes, you must add more fiber very slowly. also make sure you are getting some good oils into you. nuts should do it, but maybe just having a couple of tsp of olive oil on something.
i add pre-soaked flaxseeds (or linseeds) where the oil oozes out but the seed remains intact & put it on my oatmeal. that might be a bit too weird but i found it helps.
