please help - i need this advice

Quote  |  Reply

it was my 16th wedding anniversary and we treated ourselves to chinese food

i dont like much of it other than sweet n sour chicken or crispy beef - i know the unhealthiest and full of sodium you can have.

i treated myself and know i have gone WAY over the calories - but back on the bandwagon tomorrow

could anyone give me a rough idea as to how many calories it would contain?

the portion weighed 450g in weight.

thanks

1,500 calories.

But in all seriousness, what's the difference at this point? It's over with.

I wouldn't trust a generic food log entry for something like this.

The fact is (at least according to CSPI), a 450g portion (nearly a pound) has somewhere near 1,500 calories (assuming there was rice, which there probably was). The generic entry probably doesn't fully take into account how much oil was used. It's almost guaranteed the chef wasn't making it to calorie-count.com specifications lol

I can never seem to get links to the food database to work right.  Is there a trick to this?
It can give an good approximation or starting point at least.  If you enter in 450 grams for that dish you get over 1100 Cals.  So its not that far off.  Plus you can look at the other dishes that are similar to see how they total up.  Its better than nothing.
thanks for the help - i appreciate it very much - the reason i wanted to know is so that i will not eat it again due to having now a very good idea of what it contains. it was a treat for me to have something nice without worrying too much about it - its not often that i do this - but when i do i want to make sure that i enjoy it
PF Changs has their nutritional info listed on their website. Sweet and Sour Chicken comes out to 770 calories. One of the better things on their menu! 16th anniversary - congrats!
