Please share...what exercises do you HATE but still do & why???

As I was doing my strength training circuit today, I was logging it as I do each time (so I can see my progress).  I went back through and kind of laughed at my comments next to certain exercises.  Things like:

OMG this is so hard!!! 

I hate this exercise!!! 

Why is this sooo hard!!!

Will this exercise ever get easier??? 

Do other people actually have muscles in this spot???

Will I ever be able to do this for a full minute???? 

It put a smile on my face because many of them have become easier...and I have gotten stronger.  I'm here to tell you that I still HATE some of them.  Even with hating them...I continue to do them because I know they're producing results.  Following is my list of my least favorite exercises that despite my LOVE/HATE relationship, I continue to do regularly.

The Plank - I feel like I'm being told to walk the plank when I see that on my daily circuit training for the day.  But I've gone from only being able to hold it for 10 seconds before having to rest to being able to hold it for a whole minute with perfect form.  Even though it's hard...it makes me feel STRONG.  And it's a sure way to measure how strong I'm getting in my core.

Bench Dips - 15 of these just KILL me.  I realize that it's no easy thing to lift my 214lb frame up and down - and that losing weight alone is going to make it easier...but I also want those beautiful arms I realize this exercise will create.  Looking forward to actual shape in my upper arms.

Those are my two least favorites...what are yours???  Why do you keep doing them???  I'm just interested in hearing from others that push themselves through the pain for the gain.

Lunges.  I really dislike lunges.  With the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns.  I do them anyway because they make my butt and legs look awesome.

I freakin' hate stepups, I just don't seem to get any better at them.  But I still do them because I figure it's just got to be good for me and someday I'll kick the snot out of them, instead of vice versa.

Oh, and that Bulgarian split squat with overhead press in NROL Fat Loss II workout - that's the devil incarnate.

Horse Stance. After about a minute and 15 seconds, my legs go all shaky.

I second that! 

Planks.  I struggled with these when I started NROL4W and I still do.  I hate, hate, hate them!  Actually, since I re-read the book and found out that I can do them on my bench they aren't so bad.  And I will work my way up (or down) to doing them on the floor!! 

But my loathing of them is already firmly in place. :)

I despise dumbbell flys....maybe it's because they make me feel like my arms are going to rip off at the armpits lol But I do them anyway because they are a weak point for me so obviously those muscles need improvement.

Also I'm not a fan of walking lunges.....but I have high hopes for my heiney

I'll third!

For me it is pushups!! They are just SO hard for me to do!!!

Unassisted pull-ups.  Only because I can't do them... yet! :)

 ME TOO! It drives me crazy that I can't do one yet and I still need that tiny boost to get my arms working. Someday, right?

I really abhor doing intervals on the treadmill. I know it's good for me so I suck it up and do it but my eyes are constantly on the clock and I can't wait to be done with it. Also, any kind of agility exercise, only because I suck at them! My trainer puts me through them so I'll get better but it's a huge fight with myself to not get so frustrated that I give up and walk away.

BURPIES.

And Turkish Get-ups but I don't have them in my program this time so I can avoid them for the time being :)

LOL - I can't do even one push-up on the floor!  I do mine on the stairs (and hate them equally), but I look forward to the day that I can do one perfect push-up from the floor.  That would be awesome!

Hate doing lower ab stuff/lower body stuff where I have to move my legs independantly of my body (ie: lay on side, legs together, raise top leg, bring bottom leg up to meet it, repeat, cry.).  Idk if it's because I don't have a strong enough core or what, but MAN, they seem impossible.

Hate them with a PASSION, but still keep doing them and I know it IS getting easier (it is isn't, please tell me it is? *desperate puppy look*)

Can't agree More!  I love burpies alone for just a few of them when I'm doing a cycle with tabata....but doing 4 mins of them alone....p-a-i-n!  I still push myself to do it but wow they can get you!

I like lunges more than squats but I don't mind either.

 I LOVE squats!!! I always get a lot of looks from the guys in the gym (mostly old guys where I go...LOL) because I'm the only girl that will touch the squat rack. I love the power! Laughing
