Please tell me I didn't screw up
hi...
i am feeling a little down right now and could use some uplifting. normally i don't get a lot of responses - maybe people don't like what i have to say, but i'm really feeling bad...so if you can, leave me some words to think about.
i just ate 1200 calories worth of almonds and maybe 1000 calories worth of dried apricots.
i just couldn't stop myself. the almonds were so good - it's been a good year since i've had nuts and the apricots were super fresh and really sweet.
what have i done???

did you eat 2200 calories aside from you allowance calories?? i guess i cant figure out what your question is
Dear magic...you ate 2200 extra calories today and no big deal...your body is going to use those great calories to your benefit and tomorrow your are going to be back on track and it will be just fine...almonds and dried apricots...if there were ever anything to binge on, they are great things. Just think you could have had 2 big macs and all the fat they have.
You munched out...but realize how BAD you feel RIGHT NOW.....next time you want to eat all that many nuts and dried apricots, chances are if you remember how shitty you feel right now, you wont Now that you know they are a weak spot in ur life....stay away, if you cant have just a couple with out binging, then dont have any at all. Now move on with ur day. Dont think to much about it, forget it happened...eat normal, maybe a salad for dinner...a lil extra water. And say it happened....oh well.....its not that HUGE of a deal, if you really think about it!
Don't panic, Magicbluefairy!
Ok, lets try to logically assess the situation. You ate alot of nuts and dried fruit. It happens to all of us. I can finish off a box of granola in a sitting. Its just so addicting.
You haven't done as much damage as you may think. See, a pound of body weight is 3,500 calories. This means that you haven't even gained one measly pound. So relax and get back on track. You'll be fine.
Don't weigh yourself tomorrow, since you may have some bloating. Drink lots of water to flush your system, and take it from there. I would wait atleast 48 hours before getting on the scale.
Good luck and don't worry.... it happens to all of us.

Chalk it up to a maintenence and move forward. And honestly nuts and dried fruit is not the worst thing you could eat. Drink some water and have a light salad or veggies for dinner.
Almonds are a great source of calcium. Dried apricots are an excellent source of iron. Maybe your body was trying to tell you something, that you were low on these two things??
I would not worry about this. As others have said, there are worse things you could overeat. Just be sure to brush your teeth thoroughly! Dried fruit sticks to your teeth and creates cavities...

My grandmother sent me a huge bag of granola and another of trail mix and I had at least three servings of each before I realized that dried fruit + nuts is my downfall and I threw all of it away.
It was hard to do because I felt so bad throwing away so much food but I knew I would keep eating it if it was around. I don't know if you live alone or with family but if I were you I would toss it or give it to a family member.

Kick start your diet back up tomorrow. Don't freak out - you can overcome this and start fresh tomorrow. I agree with a previous entry: there could be worse things to munch on!!!
Yes, tomorrow is another day.
And it was all healthy food, so at least you have that much going for ya!
Next time, pre-measure the stuff, and pack it in individual zip-locks or something...

You just got to go into this knowing you're going to make mistakes. Just don't let yourself dwell on them. You're doing great and just keep on trucking.
