Pls suggest portable snacks

I really need some suggestions on portable snacks that I can have in my purse or car or whatever.  I get really hungry for an afternoon snack, and would really like to have something on me that seems calorie-worthy.  Bars (i.e. granola, protein or the like) do not strike me as a calorie bargain, and I like trail mix type things but they seem so high cal.  Does anyone have an old standby?

I'm hypoglycemic, so I stay away from too many carbs.  For a convenient snack, I use Glucerna mini-snack bars.  They're sold in the vitamin or diet drink section of most supermarkets and are easy to carry in my small purse.  My favorite "candy bar."

I will agree with what others told me, eat enough for breakfast and lunch then have a light dinner weither fruits and vegetables only to fill your starving stomach at night. On my own experiences I did had alternate of  fruits and vegetables like having carrot juice,cucumber,apple,mix altogether in a juicer.A healthy one having a cup of it and just a piece of wheat bread.It is complete for me.

Snacks,well you dont have to wait you'll starve. Eating bit by bit on my own experience is good with a lot of water. Then when it is time for meal I always take a glass of water before having it,then you wont starve from those food on the table but instead,you will eat a little because you feel full with water you drink. i'm fine with this. I enjoy the food served on the table but picking on it just a little portion is good enough. Avoid drinking water right after your meal let it be 30 mins. after eating.This was the most common advices I got from professionlal dieticians. thus, having it right away could cause indigetion. I did once to prove it,and it was true.

After having this practice I feel great,now I have time to do my workout regularly and eat right food at the right time the right amount, I started to lose weight without starving and I live life easy and confident. Is is just a matter of disciplining yourself though.

I would invest in a food dehyrator. I am going to. I love bananas and apples- way better than candy or cupcakes or cookies or something. you can also make real fruit roll ups - yum!
