Plug me.

Does anyone use buttplugs for sleeping?

I MEAN

Earplugs?

I really can't stand any noise during the night, but the ones I tried using felt really icky.

I have in the past when I worked night shift. Especially if there was noise in the neighborhood, like when they trimmed the trees or resurfaced the street or during the fall when the neighbor across the street ran his leafblower every single day.

There are a variety of kinds. Some are more comfortable than others. Go to a hardware store and ask. They might have several varieties.

Do you know anyone who works in a factory or for a construction company? Get some free samples.

I got a pair of ear buds from Radio Shack for my iPod that are so soft and comfortable that I can sleep in them very easily.

I live in a studio apartment with noisy neighbors upstairs, sometimes I sleep later than my husband on his day off and he gets up super early and plays games or watches TV. I use them then, I dislike them primarily because I can hear my own heartbeat with them on... and I hate that. I also, almost always, have sleep paralysis with them on, and knowing it may happen kinda makes it hard to sleep sometimes.

They do make my ears feel icky after, usually just really itchy. Luckily I don't wear them too often.

Yes, my husband snores really loudly.  I have tried many different types of ear plugs, and the best brand I've found are Hearos.  I get the blue ones (they block the most noise).  But, this was after probably about a year of experimenting with all different types of ear plugs/earbuds w/music, etc.

A trick I've also learned is if you are using the foam earplugs that have a rounded end that goes into your ear, cut that end off, you'll have less itchiness since the plug doesn't go in as far but still blocks out the noise.
