200 plus crowd?

I just started but I have noticed most people here are under 200. I am trying to lose weight to be active like Iwas in high school and keep up with the kids. I am at 240 and want to get down to 150-160. I have found since I have a large frame that any less then that I look sick. Anyone else trying to lose 90 plus pounds?

Welcome Joanna.

I started on the site just over a week ago.  I am currently at 270 - down 7 poundsSmile . I am trying to get down to 175-185 to start.  I'm also trying to lose weight to keep up with my kids as well as for health reasons.  Heart disease and diabetes runs in my family so it's time I got serious about my weight.  I also don't like the example I'm setting for my kids so I've decided to turn it around.  I've already noticed that my daughter is becoming a little more aware of how much she's eating and is beginning to try healthier foods. 

I've started setting small weekly goals for myself that I know I can acheive so that I will stay motivated.  This weeks goal is to "burn" an additional 1750 calories.  I'm at 308 so far.  Hopefully I can get on the exercise bike tonight.

thanks. I was starting to wonder if there was more people like me out there. My kids are 9 almost 8 in 3 weeks and 2 in 2 weeks. The lil one likes to eat everything even healthy. The other two and my husband doesn't. I stoped drinking soda I was drinking a 2 liter a day now one cup a week maybe. I don't eat much durning the day but eat a big meal at dinner. Wheres th 200 plus club? I am still trying to figure out this site. thanks

Hey Joanna, welcome to calorie count.  There are a lot of us out there trying to lose 90+lbs.  I started at 371 and am currently at 257.  I want to eventually get down to 140 lbs so I have a ways to go, but we are out here to support and encourage each other.  Good luck on your journey. 

Welcome Joanna -- I think you'll be pleased you joined.  I'm not quite at your level but I am a swimming fool, so I had to respond.  There is also a 200+ weight loss challenge going on in the Games and Challenges forum -- if you're up for it, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to have you join.  We have members in the 300s, the 200s, and (now) a couple in the 100's, all with significant weight loss desires and looking for additional support/motivation.

thanks everyone. I am doing better this time then all the others I have been dieting for a month now. I am still trying to lose those first 10 pounds. I am watching foods and diet drinks. Having others that are doing the same thing helps alot.

 Im 234.3lbs (cant forget that .3 lb lol) and Im aiming to get down to  132lbs which leaves me over 100lbs to lose (this is the time I like being Australian then I only have 46.5kgs to lose lol)

I lost 3.3lbs this week.

I think the main thing to keep in mind is whether you have 100lbs or 15lbs to lose everyone goes through the same motions of having to change their lifestyle, way of thinking, eating and way of looking at them selves.

Hey I'm 241 right now trying to get to 160 as well.  I've lost 7 pounds yeah!  I love this site; it has been a critical tool for me.

I was at 242 when I started.  I just broke 200 this morning!!  So I guess I shouldn't really join your club but I wanted to say You Can Do It!!! 

My end goal is 155, I have a large frame also...honestly though I may stop at 160 because 150's is very thin for me.

You guys are great help. I like having other people to talk to. My husband is a former marine and still weighyts 180 and my kids are skinny, they eat like pigs but are skinny so it leaves my to lose solo. Now I have a support system thats losing to it helps alot. I know I can do it now.

Hi Joanna,

I just joined.  Today was my first day of changing how I eat.  I scared myself to death almost when I just missed 300# by one pound.  Well that was with clothes and shoes on but it was enough.  I weighed in today at 289 lbs.  The program's goal for me is something like 158 lbs.  My goal is just to steadily go down and never back up. 

I am looking forward to getting to know the people on this forum!

Hello I just started this site yesterday and I weigh 278lbs. My goal is to get to 150 lbs and not maintain between 150 and 160 with diet and exercise. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I like the fact that everyone just puts it all out there for everyone to see it makes it seem more realistic to me. Thanks and good luck to all of you. You all give me hope that I too can loose weight and reach my goals within time.

my weight is 231 the highest Ive ever been.  So i quit my job of 14 years, start a new job at a Gym on monday huge change!!!! (and pay cut) But with being in a positive work force.  i guess Ill be a ginny pig, which is fine with me if I can become a skinny pig lol
