And I am starving.  I went over my cals today by 100 (1900 instead of 1800), yesterday I probably ate 5000 between food and drinking.  And yet my stomach is growling.  UGH!

This only happens when I over eat a day or two earlier.

Any suggestions to take my mind off food?

Drink a glass of skim milk! It's extra calories but that always seems to satisfy my hunger...better than me pigging out on carbs! Also try heating it up - warm milk is even more satisfying than cold milk.

I started writing a book and when I think of food I just start writing and it helps a lot. I find that if I have flaxseed (milled) with something like yogurt ect that it helps make me feel full.

I write all the time, poetry and unfortunately when I am hungry the poems end up being about food! lol  Thanks for the suggestion. Lizardking?  Doors fan are you?

It won’t do any harm if you ate a small piece of cheese, or got a glass of milk. Trust me, for long term success, many people need to have a small snack before sleeping! I am one of these people!

Even if I have had enough calories during the day, mentally I just need a small bite to eat before sleeping. Eating late CAN be bad, but not if it is just a small amount.

A small snack will not make any difference what so ever. 100 calories of sugar free dark chocolate doles it for me! Or a banana.

So please don’t worry about eating at night! If you ignore your hunger and thoughts about food EVERY night it will drive you insane! If you just go get a small snack you will feel happier and therefore feel less likely to rebel against being too strict

You might try some nice decaf hot tea. It won't keep you up, and usually when I drink warm things I sip it slow enough that it keeps me occupied for a while to take my mind off eating. Tea's good for you, dontya know? ;)

I always want to snack just before bed.  Im only taking in bout 600 cals a day so dont worry too much about wot I have, but I love to have a couple of snack a jacks- about 51 cal in the jumbo caramel ones and 62 in jumbo choc.  They always fill me up.  Good luck with keeping those bears in ur belly at bay x

That was VERY rude and uncalled for. Not to mention it made you sound like an idiot yourself. While it's true eating 600 cals a day is not smart, you have no right to call ANYONE an idiot, nor do you have the right to tell them to get off the site.

Sorry. I was in a bad mood.

At times, I just have no patience for people who come on to this site, and openly say that they eat 600 calories, and then expect people on here to be okay with that. It is the opposite of what this site stands for. People who think it is okay to eat 600 calories a day need professional help.

I also know that calling some one an idiot is not what this site is about either, so I genuinely apologize for the way I came across.

Thanks for the support from those that have given me support, apologies to those Ive upset.  Judging someone u dont know is not a great idea.  I replied to the post in an effort to help- I thought that was the idea of this site, guess I was wrong.

Wot I was trying to say is that throughout the day I eat very few calories and therefore it allows me to snack at bedtime.

I was just in a bad mood, and it sounded like you were one of those people who restricts and has an eating disorder.

I understand what you mean now!

I save calories at times when I know it could help. Although, I do not save too many calories - other wise I get too hungry and am more likely to over do it!

I know I love a night time bite to eat when something good is on TV - so I have my dinner quiet early. It just feels better to digest dinner before resting any way. The fact that I have room for a small treat is just a bonus!

I think that there is always room for a small night time snack! 100 - 200 calories is also not a lot to cut back on during the day - if you have to cut back. I do not think every one would need to cut back during the day - just people who want to lose weight.

Glad we sorted that, I love this site and never had a prob with it.  I posted last night when I was tired- and had a handful of caramel snack a jacks!!- so didnt really explain myself properly.  Sorry bout that.

I love the idea of being able to snack, I do love to eat and in the past my snacking was very out of control, hence why saving calories for my snacks suits me really well.
