So usually I eat about 1300 a day and work out 6 times a week (running and weights) but last night and although it's early today I feel like I'm going into binge mode. Since I still feel I have a few more to lose I'd really like some advice. I just ate 4 waffles, grapes & cashews for breakfast but the Cheerios are calling my name. I feel like I have no control. Anyone have some suggestions?
Drink a full glass of water before each food item. Flaxseed oil supplements also help.
Is Flaxseed oil similar to Fish oil? I'm having a brain fart right now!
Eating 1300 a day when you run and lift weights is probably too little. I'm not going to go into a a rant on starvation mode...because I don't really believe most ppl are here eat that little for that long...
Basically, I think you should probably eat 1400-1500 on days where you exercise (depending on how many cals you burn there, eat at least half back). For me, I can be really good about my diet keeping to 1300 or so while I also exercise 6 days a week, but after a week or two of that, my body starts craving food and I end up with a day where I overeat.
To counteract that, it definitely helps if you at least have one or two days a week where you eat maintenance or just indulge a little bit. See if that helps ya out :)
Binge on cucumbers, pickles, salads (without oily dressing) ... till your stomach feels like it's going to pop. You can't do much damage that way.
I wish I could think of that when all I want is pretzels, Twizlers, and cookies! It sounds so much easier than it is!
When I'm in PMS binge mode I chew gum, it seems to help me...
Yogurt helps me. I do allow myself a small piece of chocolate (something pre-wrapped so that you don't eat an entire candy bar) which really helps. If it's a truffle or if it's dark, the richness curbs the craving and I didn't do a lot of damage. Your body is craving this stuff because it's going through a hormone change and needs to replenish and up the amount of certain hormones for whatever reason. So don't totally deny yourself but don't go overboard. I read this article once and it helped me get a better grasp on what i should do for PMS cravings:
