PMS cravings
how does anyone deal with the cravings and insatiable hunger? at least that is how i am. any other day i can eat my 1200 calories, exercise and be fine. let me be pms'ing and i can't stop eating and it's not just the cravings, my stomach is growling!!!! what do you all do. usually i just sleep it off, but i just want food!!!!!
Lol...I usually just give in.
But, try stocking up on things you can snack on that aren't THAT bad, I know I always go back in forth between wanting salty and sweet (chocolate). So some popcorn is perfect for the salty, and for the sweet, maybe a Luna bar or applesauce.
Take care!
I get cravings and just work them into my diet. I get the chocolate itch so I usually have a fun size bar or cocoa puffs maybe even some frozen yogurt as my snack for the day.
I find that 90 calorie granola bars are enough.
If you want just food try vegatables and seafood. Just keep the servings small and the calories low. Don't have a pig fest just a small something to keep you going.
i have the same problem! as soon as that time of the month comes along, all I want to do is eat, eat, eat.
i just found ways to trick my body into thinking its getting satisfied with junk.
non fat, splenda ice cream is good. so is carob, its like an all natural chocolate substitute. and sun chips are amazing, i live by them.
hope this helps :)!
Try going for things with lots of bulk but less calories. For instance, instead of eating the handfull of almonds that have 200 calories, try a big salad with light dressing, carrots, peas, beans, cucumbers, etc.
I know you probably already know this. Just think about what you are eating. Put down the calorie-dense foods for a few days and go for the low-fat versions that fill you up with less calories.
I eat the chips deluxe 100 calorie right bites chocolate chip cookies, and 90 calorie chocolate granola bites by quaker, and drink alot of water! Because I always get a craving for salty foods and chocolate, so These two snacks equaling 190 calories really hit the spot. and then I do some yoga to ease the pain!
I have the same problem. To the point that now instead of counting calories during my period, I simply count fat grams. I usually stick with around 1200 also, but during that time I can go up to 2000. I don't think it'll hurt anything in the long run. It's probably good, honestly. There is something to rotation like that. The only thing I fear is not being able to stop AFTER the period is over.
I usually don't give in to cravings. Having a big bottle of water and a glass next to me at work helps. When i want to eat something I just drink at least half a glass of water first. Then I need the toilet so it takes your mind of the food for a bit.
Make sure your meals are satisfying enough to pull you through and make sure you have healthy snacks like cucumber and fruit.
Think about the food as whether you want the calories and the nutritional value. I won't say no to a muffin, but it's much easier to say no to all those cals and no nutritional value.
Well, sometimes, (just at that time of the month), I allow for a little craving ... I have a 5yr old daughter so often have 'funsize' bars in the house. I find that a 'funsize' pack of chocolate buttons controls the cravings without too many calories (75cals in a pack) so whilst they might be dead calories, they save me from doing worse!
Whilst on this subject, can anyone tell me whether it is a genuine fact that women weigh more just before menstruation? I always seem to have a 1-2lb increase a few days before, and they are miraculously gone at the end?
Have you ever tried "skinny cow" icecream products? They are AMAZING and help "ease the pain". My problem is eating only one, and not the whole sleeve when I'm PMSing :) Hope you have better success than I do!
