Does anyone avoid weighing in during their 'cycle'?

Yes!  It's usually about 3 lbs. more than normal.  Ugh.

I don't.  But if I don't do well when I weigh myself during my cycle I don't get down on myself.  I keep telling myself that "next week will be better!"

This is a bit off the subject but I have noticed that if I exercise consistently that I don't PMS as bad as when I don't exercise.  I'm sure my family is happier during the times I do exercise when Aunt Flo is about to arrive.  LOL.....

OMG AUNT FLO!!!

That is TOOO funny!  thanks for the laugh!  I wish i could say the same.  I suffer from extreme cramps.  I have to take tylenol with codeine every 3 hours to take the edge off.  Thankfully it only lasts less than 3 days.  Short but not so sweet!

:) ~H~

No but I should. It's annoying to see a 3 lb gain even if you know it's temporary.

Haley,

Glad you liked my Aunt Flo comment.  Wink  It's nice to know someone appreciates my sense of humor.  LOL.

Wow, you really go through a lot during your time of the month.  Codeine is pretty strong (I loved it when I had my first son, it made my whole body feel nice and numb!!).  Have you always had extreme cramps?  I feel for you!!

Aunt Flo?  My fiance calls it the plague.  I think it's ridiculous because I don't even have weird PMS, like a raging attitude, chocolate cravings, and cramps that make you cry.  I just get hyper. xD

And yes, I avoid weighing myself when I'm PMSing, not because I'm afraid of seeing that water retention (I barely retain anything), but because I'm usually outside playing.  It's perfect weather for my jump rope.

My PMS has been 10 times worse since I went off the birth control pill in 2002.  Heavier and MUCH more crampy....the pain goes right down my legs to my knees.  Again, thankfully, the whole ordeal is over within 2 1/2 days tops!

if it werent for the cramps, nobody would ever be able to tell that aunt flo is in town (STILL LAUGHING MY A$$ OFF).  Dr says i shouldnt go back on pill since I am 37 years old.

Haley, I'm 36 and was recently prescribed birth control (although I never got it filled).  Why did your doctor say you shouldn't be on it anymore????

Can cause blood clots if you are a) over 35, b) have high blood pressure.  Smoking increases the risk.

Sarah,

I thought those were the risks no matter how old you are?

This is actually really funny, since I'm on my period right now! I usually try to avoid it, especially during the first two days -- I get visibly bloated and have constant cravings.
