Does PMS keep you from losing weight like usual?
Maybe this is TMI, but in the past week or so, I have not been able to get the scale to budge. I have a feeling that it's due to the fact that my period is due in the next few days.
Have any of you other ladies experienced some major water retention/inability to lose during this time of the month?

I am due for my period and i usually weigh about 108 yesterday i was 110.5- sucks!!!!
a lot of women gain a pound or three around their period. fluctuating hormones, water retention, bloating, you name it. a lot of ppl here just avoid weighing themselves for about a week so they dont' have to see those ugly numbers.
It's like clock work for me. I don't loose during that week usually a pound more but man after its done I loose 3 pounds. This has been for the past 2 months now. I still work hard that week and watch what I eat even though I don't see the results till after but its worth it for me. Down 11 pounds in 7 weeks. 9 ince starting CC Jan 13th.
i hate this time of the month!
Yes!!! I totally gain weight and get depressed. It is almost impossiblt to drop weight at that time in your cycle. Try not to weigh yourself until about three days afterwards.
The bad thing for me is sometimes i am bloated the week before during and few days after, not all the time but sometimes, like now! The only thing with me is that it is usually quite obvious when i am bloated b/c my belly is pretty flat.
Yep. Me too. . . It can start as early as a week and a couple days beforehand. Clothes start fitting differently. .
clothes fitting different in a good way or bad way or related to period?
Yup, I gain 3 each and every time. It is frustrating because I am on a team and won't have any loss to report for this week.
But, I am losing inches so I am good with that. Look for other ways to see changes and avoid the scale for that period (no pun intended).

I'm always up by 2-3 pounds and find it distressing. It's fun to weigh myself the following week, though, because the pounds dropped can be dramatic! That's part of why I like the two lines on the graph on this program. It helps me know that those kinds of fluctuations don't matter all that much -- it's the downward trend I'm after.
Oh I am so glad someone asked this! I have a lot of great things in my life - but my cycle isn't one of them. Lets just say ... 14 days on, 8 -10 days off....! Yikes. I know the pill will help - but after 20 years on it - I am getting too old and the hormones in them make me nutty. So... maybe I should take 2 weeks off from the scales! I haven't seen it budge in 2 weeks --- but now that I am "off" - maybe I'll have better luck. I am only 1 lb away from the 120's --- so desperate to crack that 130!
Apparently I'm weird. I've almost never retained water during my period (maybe a pound or so a few days beforehand) and occasionally I LOSE weight (a pound or two) during my period that I promptly gain back when it's over.
