I have finally worked up the courage to post my before and after!
I lost 57.5 pounds with Calorie Count. I got through 30 days of P90X at the beginning until I realized I wouldn't be able to continue unless I was in better shape, so I started running.
I originally couldn't run more than an eighth of a mile before I had to walk the rest of a mile. Yesterday, I ran my first half marathon!
I hope this is inspirational to someone out there. You can do it. It's not easy and it won't be overnight, but it's acheivable.

holy crap, great job! You look rock solid, you obviously went about your weight loss in the right manner, congrats :)
Applause! You look fantastic! And you have helped motivate me. I need to loose 50-60lbs and I've been wanting to SEE what kind of a difference that would/could make in my physical appearance because I know that would motivate me. And now I've seen it! Thanks for the helpful post =)
Would you mind posting your stats (height, weight, age) so we can see where you started and what you got to? Also, what was your average calorie intake, exercise (besides P90X)?
Congrats!!!
Thank you guys! I'm so glad I could motivate you sarah_86 and thank you for the kind words dplatzer. :)
hotrebeccainmesa - On January 14th of this year, I was 5'4", 189 pounds, and 17 years old. As of today, I am 5'6", 131.5 pounds, and less than a month away from 18! Haha.
My average calorie intake was 1600 on days I didn't exercise and 1900 on days I did up until about July where I reached a plauteu. I ened up dropping it down to 1400 for non-workout days and 1600 for workout days. I have now upped it to 1600 and around 2000 because of all the running I do.
As far as exercise goes, I started out with the Couch To 5k program. Since then I've been logging roughly thirty miles a week; two long runs (eight miles and upwards), two short runs (less than five miles), one day of intervals, and one day of cross training (usually Muay Thai, but sometimes it's just a bike ride or even walking for an hour or two). I take Sundays off and eat maintenance.
My original goal weight was 135; I am now aiming for 130 and I plan on starting to lift. I also took my measurements before and after:
Before:
Arms: 12", Chest: 42", Waist: 37", Hips: 45", Thighs: 41", and Calves: 17".
After:
Arms: 10", Chest: 33", Waist: 26", Hips: 36", Thighs: 18.5", and Calves: 13".
Hope that helps! :)
You look amazing!!! And what an inspiration. I began my journey 10/8/09 and also took a before pic (I'm glad you posted yours in your bra and undies because that is how I took my before and hope my after looks as fabulous as yours!)
In the last month I have lost 7 pounds and 5 inches - forgetting fad diets and doing it the right way with healthy eating and exercise. Some days are harder than others.
Thanks for reminding us on these hard days that it CAN be done!!!
Ooo extra encouragement because we have the same starting height/weight! GO YOU! Awesome before and after stats.
Thank you slytoslo! Haha. I bet your after will look even better than mine! :) Congratulations! Keep it up; it's so great to hear that you're doing it the healthy way.
sarah_86: Extra encouragement is always a good thing. :) Thank you as well. If you ever need anything, I'm always here!
Great job!!!!!!!!!
I love seeing before and after pics.
Makes me wish I had a real before pic lol!
Great job to you!
Wow, that's amazing! I'm about a month into this and very close to your "Before" stats. Its very cool that you could eat 1600 calories and stayed so active. I am still only at 1200 and pretty sedentary....might have to check out the p90x
Wow really cool.
I thought all the before after pics are of models wearing body suits. You are really an inspiration.
Hope to post mine some day .. fingers crossed.
Where do I get more info about P90X?
How do you manage to walk/run for 1-2 hours, I get bored after half an hour?
Thanks,
San
Just wanted to wish you another congratulations. You should be very proud of your achievement! You must feel like a completely different person ![]()
I'm about halfway through my weight loss I think and I can't wait til I'm posting my before and after photos like you have.
Thanks for the motivational post!
Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words amayou82, prinzessin_naseimbuch, and pillow_. I appreciate it very much. :)
heatherparks: I usually maintained a deficit close to 1000. It took everything in me some days to go for a walk. I'd recommend P90X as it's an amazing workout; just make sure to do the fitness test first! :)
sskohli: I used to think the same thing. :) You can learn more about P90X by visiting the Beachbody website. Here's a link: Click me!
wonderful... it just goes to show that one must EAT to LOSE.
brilliant post. you look totally hot!
kelly-

Fabulous pics! You look great, and super healthy! Congratulations! Running's the best, eh? Super addicting as well! Congrats on your first 1/2--I'm sure you'll have plenty more in the future!
Congrats to you!
Congratulations!!! It's great to see that hard work and effort truly pays off. You look really great! But also--think of how much healthier you are!!!
Thanks for sharing your story with us! Truly inspiring! ![]()
Girl...
You look AMAZING! I am so so so encouraged by these photos. I heartily commend you for being so dedicated and losing all that in such a short time! I feel like I have been trying to lose weight forever (2 years I guess) but I have just gone up and down, until around March of this year (I've lost 40lbs since then) and sometimes I feel like my goals are unachievable. But you are just an incredible inspiration! Just what I needed today!
Thanks!
Great work! Your post has encouraged me to keep plodding along toward my goal of losing 40 lbs. by May 10th. Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the good work!
