Wow, we have cats and dogs in our house.... but I must confess that I am a "cat person" who also rescues dogs; I'm not a "dog person."
Dogs are definitely more work and noisier.
Cats are definitely less work and quieter.
Our cats don't bark, but our dogs aren't shredding the furniture.

Good point, Jules! Dogs can also predict epileptic seizures and get the owner to a safe location before one begins, as well as detect certain lung cancers!
Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.
