POLL - How do you define "Classic Rock"

Alright, I know i'm getting old and such.. but.. I'm sitting here listening to the "Classic Rock" station and "Jack and Diane" just came on. WHAT?!?!

So... New Wave.. Classic Rock or not?

And please don't tell me the stuff I listened to growing up is "Classic Rock" now. You'll make me feel OLD! 

New Wave is Classic Rock now. Yup, over 25 years ago. Roxy Music, A Flock of Seagulls, Duran Duran, The Blasters. All Classic Rock. I've filled my player with music I listened to when in junior high and high school, and it is such a kick to still enjoy it now, all these years later.

Good music is always good music... 

If my mom listened to it when she was my age, it's classic.

Anything from 20 years ago? Jack and Diane? (Ugh, I can't stand that song!)

I consider classic rock to be Lynard Skynard, Led Zepplin, Gratefull Dead, Aerosmith, Def Leopard, The Eagles, The Pretenders.  I grew up in a "Hippy" family so this kinda music is all I knew until I got my own radio.

To those of you saying that Guns n Roses are classic rock.. just you wait. Wait until.. Green Day and The Killers are Classic Rock. Then you too can feel OLD!

I am 27 and I have never heard of The Killers. Thats a new one on me but I rarely listen to anything that new. To me Classic Rock is like Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac etc. (all of which I listen to). I also listen to Motley, Def Leppard, GNR etc but I would not list that under Classic Rock.

Top 20 as in.. the billboard top 20. Teens listen to them. 20 somethings. Maybe some adults do as well, I have no idea.

But they're HIP NOW is my point.

 I am guessing younger generation. I have never heardof them and I don't listen to the radio anymore. Only CDS and my flash stick.

I'm twenty and the only reason I even know who Green Day is because they did a song on an episode of ER.

The younger generation is stupid when it comes to music, listening to nonsense like hip hop and whiney emo screamo music.  Backstreet Boys is where it's at!
