How often do you weigh in?

I ask because I've decided its best for me to weigh in only once a month.

What kind of results have you had weighing in like you do?

And anything else  you would like to add about this topic :)

I weigh myself everyday but count it only once a week.  It helps me to track trends and to see what foods effect me most.  It is also helping me find EXACTLY what calorie count I should be eating.  BMR's are an estimate so we have to find our magic number.

I weigh in daily.  It can be a bit of a downer when you see your weight is fluctuating upwards because of bloating, but I feel it just motivates me.   If I don't weigh in, I feel like I can just live in denial and get away with murder, binging as much as I want.  If I only weighed in once a week, or once a month, I'd just be like, "I'll get serious closer to my weigh in".

Once a week!  But I'm thinking of changing it to everyday since I've noticed small weight gains.  I think if I were to weigh in every day it would keep me more accountable.

I weight myself four days a week - every day I come into work.  I don't have a scale at home & don't want the temptation to weigh myself multiple times per day!

I weigh in once a week.  When I started this I was aiming for a weekly weigh in, then became obsessed with the scale and was weighing every day.  I couldn't handle seeing the ups and downs (with more than 50 lbs left to lose, it's hard to see the scale remaining the same or even going up!).  I took a month where I only weighed bi-weekly and that really helped put things in perspective.  Now I'm weighing once a week and appreciating every changed, even if it's only down a half a pound!

Yea I figured that would be the majority of what people do is every week. I guess I just dont care about what I weigh. I measure my weight loss daily and weekly just seeing how differently  my clothes fit me. But the scale is so innacurate in my opinion about how we look or feel...That number doesnt mean a whole lot to me anymore and that is how I like it! :) I see how my body is changing in the mirror and so I get excited for weigh in at the end of the month and want to work even harder to make it as a big a number as possible. It doesnt make me feel like I can "cheat" at all actually. Maybe because I know that if I eat poorly or skip my workouts I am only cheating myself. But everyone definately is different and this just happens to work for me, good luck to ya'll!

Anybody else??? i am so curious to find someone who has my same views lol.

I weigh in every morning and then every evening, just so i can how the day went.  I am not obsessive or anything , but I do just like to keep track, which i do in a spreadsheet. Personally it just keeps me honest.

I am with you prissy!  I weigh in each morning with my "naked weight."  Then I enter it into CC and into my own spreadsheet which I have entitled "Smart Living Plan".  I also weigh in each evening so that I can see how my water intake and sodium intake have helped or hurt each day.  Sometimes, I take my scale into the bathroom at work and hide it under the counter so I can weigh myself before and after lunch.  (Okay, so maybe not the last one, but I have thought about it!)

I also play "Biggest Loser" with my BFF.  Each Wednesday morning, we see which one of us fell below the yellow line.  While we always give "immunity" to the other, I have found it's a great way to keep encouraging each other to hit our goal weights.

I don't think that being "self aware" is obsessive, but just opposite to my former "don't care" attitude.

Thanks JV - Can I get a copy of that spreadsheet - it sounds awesome.  I also that the playing the BFF edition of Biggest Loser is a really great way to keep you both accountable!

Good luck on your weight loss journey!

I actually weigh in a couple of times a day.  I don't think I'm obsessive about it, but it helps motivate me when I see the loss after my workout.  I know it's not real weight -- just water, but it helps me.

I only record my losses after I've seen them on the scale for at least two mornings in a row.  So far I haven't recorded any gains as they have been temporary.  I'm not bothered when I see increases so far because I know they are temporary and weighing daily helps me stay motivated and "honest".

I also measure often, but I only record that weekly.

I have found that weighing myself daily, is a very bad idea for me! I'm one of those people who lets the scale decide how my mood is gonna be for the rest of the day.. i don't think it is beneficial for my weight loss because if i gain then i tend to say.. why workout? its not working..

I know that its not true, but to me it is still not encouraging at all. Its hard not to step on the scale everyday, but I sure am thinking about weighing in once a month.. but i will continue to take measurements. :)

I weigh in once a week...I do hop on a little here and there as well during the week but I try to not do that...

I weigh myself probably less than once a week.  I'm not fixated on weight because I'm not overweight, so it says nothing about my health.  I want to measure success in how strong I get, and how good I look in my clothes.  I don't need a scale to tell me I still have a beer gut, my jeans keep in informed. Tongue out

I only weight in when I go to the doctor.  I go about every 2 months because I have arthritis.  I find it a lot more rewarding saying i lost 8lbs!!! instead of 1.  I don't want to get fixated.  One month is a good idea too.

I only allow myself on a scale once a week - the numbers change so much day to day because of water weight and bloating that it can discourage me a little. Plus if I did it everyday I would get a little too focused on pounds rather than eating well or working out.

Mostly once a week with the occasional 'hop on' just for the heck of it.

I weigh myself every morning out of habit. I don't know if that's unhealthy or not but I'm just maintaining now and I don't fluctuate too much so it's not a stressful experience. I'm a little concerned that if I ever gain more muscle I'm going to be too preoccupied with the lbs to appreciate it but I'm definitely taking into account my body shape and how I feel.

Great question meggo85.  I weigh every morning immediately after I wake.  It helps me clearly see when my weight spikes due to retained water, due to recent consumption of salty food.  I find it is very motivating and I need all the motivation I can get because I am trying to get the last five vanity pounds off.

I weigh myself every morning and every night when I shower.  If I don't take a second shower at night, I don't weigh myself and I never really take my nightly weight into consideration.  I just do it for gigles.
