POLL: Like it or not? PB2
Ever since I started with CC, I have noticed the many comments about PB2. Being a "peanut butter junkie", I am curious about how many people like it and how many do not like it. How about you? yes, or no?
Yes, I like it a lot
i like plain PB but i never eat it. i HATE stuff like reeses. chocolate and peanut butter together grosses me out.
Yes it is good. however i dont like it enough tokeep buying jars of it.. it is kind of expensive and i only eat PB every once in a while.
I LOVE the stuff. Luckily my husband hates it, so I can avoid adding that item to my list of things that are bad for my weight loss goals.
I haven't tried it yet, but I'll be watching the responses here closely to help me make a decision.
By the way, for those that don't know, here's what we're talking about
Thanks for the link! I didn't know what everyone was talking about! Might have to look into that. Now, if someone would come up with a real butter tasting substitute! (the margarines and "fakes" taste bleck!)
what is it? ![]()
If I tasted one after the other, I'm sure the real thing would taste better, but overall it is the BEST PB alternative I have found. I love it! Not to mention it is so versatile and is easy to use for baking and other recipes!
It's so weird that this was the first post I saw in this forum because I was just telling my friend today about the sick love affair I have with peanut butter. It's my weakness! I could eat the stuff by the spoonful all day long (thank God I don't, however it's next to impossible for me to avoid a spoonful here and there throughout the day). Since it's nearly 100 cals/tblsp it is certainly adds quickly to my daily caloric allowance without much substance. I've never heard of this PB2 stuff but I'm definitely going to have to check out. I'm a little weary of the whole 'just mix with water' thing but I'm willing to give it a try and I'm hoping it might be a much better alternative. Thanks for this!!
PB2 IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO PEANUT BUTTER IT COMES IN A POWDER FORM AND YOU MIX IT WITH WATER IT HAS 50 CALORIES PER 2 TBSP (I'M PRETTY SURE) AT WORK SO I DONT HAVE MY JAR. ONLY A COUPLE GRAMS OF FAT. SO IT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE FROM REGULAR PEANUT BUTTER AND IT REALLY DOES TASTE GREAT. TRY IT!!! I SENT A JAR TO MY SISTER AND SHE LOVES IT TOO.
Hate it. Really I am a texture person and I don't like the texture of it.
I am very fussy on my PB, Kraft smooth is my favourite. Kraft chunky only for PB cookies.

It is basically dry/powdered peanuts (butter) that you mix with water or other liquid to resemble real peanut butter.
As of this morning, the yes votes really outweigh the no votes, and I am surprised!
Several have never tried it or even heard of it, so maybe they will become fans, who knows?
Thanks for answering though-it has given me a fair assessment.
Personally, I cannot stand it!
I bought 2 jars last year and threw them both out!! I even tried to pawn it off on my grandson who likes peanut butter almost as much as I do! He asked me if he had to eat it. Being a peanut butter "addict", I thought I had found the answer to my obsession----boy, was I wrong & very disappointed!
I cannot keep peanut butter in the house any more, so whenever I go to my mom's or my daughter's I always ask if I can have some peanut butter! A tablespoon or two usually does the trick! LOL ![]()
Can you tell me where to buy it in order to try it? Do you have to order through a website or can you find it at Kroger or a health food store? If I like Jif peanut butter, do you think I would like this? Does it taste similar to the real thing?
I love it! I even made PB cookie bars with it and they were great. It is also a great addition to my protein shakes on days that I make one. The texture is different but the flavor gives me what I need from it!
I've never tried it, but I'm a devoted Smuckers Natural PB eater. Nothing could change my ways.
DISCLAIMER: I never used it in recipes, just used it with honey or fruit spread.
So, with that said, I don't like it. Not sure if as a kid you did this, but put several peanuts in your mouth and then chewed and chewed and chewed until it was mush? That's what it tastes like and also the texture once mixed.
Ditto on the Smucker's Natural PB... Its the best out there and its 100% real Peanuts too.
