Old Pennsylvania Dutch recipe

Recipe Ingredients for Pon Hoss

18 oz. pork
5 lbs. corn meal
2 onions
4 stalks celery
1 tbsp salt
4 quarts water
1 cup butter

Recipe Directions for Pon Hoss

  1. Use a large stock pot, boil 4+ quarts of water.

  2. Boil 2-4 pigs feet until they are falling apart.

  3. Discard bones and gristle.

  4. Add diced onion, celery, salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Dampen corn meal with water.

  6. Add cornmeal gradually, stirring so it doesn't lump.

  7. Simmer and stir until cornmeal is cooked.

  8. Line loaf pans with foil.

  9. Fill and let cool, freeze until wanted.

  10. Slice and fry, serve hot for breakfast.
