Poor workout week

Quote  |  Reply

Hey all, this week hasn't been too good for workouts

Saturday - First HIIT. Did it quite well, felt like I'd been hit by a sledgehammer.

Sunday - Rest

Monday - Was meant to do some of the 30 Day Shred, didn't.

Tuesday - Did a 30min Davina McCall workout (strength).

Wednesday - 30 Day Shred

Thursday - None, but lots of cycling.

Friday - Was meant to do the cardio workout for Davina McCall DVD, but after taking 3 tablets, I could feel myself getting sick during the workout, so I stopped.

How do other people overcome things like this?

Other Stats: 17yo male, average calorie intake for the week:2,169 kcal. (I should be hitting 1700 according to CC) weight 65.3 kg.

Also, can anybody recommend a workout DVD or exercise that will tone up the stomach and remove fat? I have 33 days before I'm on stage, practically naked (except for underwear) and I'm getting pretty annoyed by my apparent lack of progress!

cardio removes fat.

do strength training on your stomach to get muscle there.

as your fat goes down, and your muscles get bigger, you will get your 6 pack. It does takes a long time though.

Do you have access to a gym?

Not really, got a few things to save up for so a gym membership isn't really an option.

body weight strength training only gets you so far.

once you can do 3 sets of 10 push ups, you wont gain much strength on it.

maybe some cheap dumbbells and a bench (or you can use other things instead of a bench)

the gains will be a lot faster.

Okay, first off, you can't make fat disappear from one place specifically.  So deal with it if you don't have anything close to "wash board abs" in 33 days.  As far as ab exercises go, search the forums.  A lot of people recommend core strengthening exercises like planks.

p_n: Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I know you can't spot reduce fat and that wasn't what I was asking. What I was requesting was advice as to a workout DVD that would remove fat (from all over) and incorperate exercises that would give a more toned appearance in the lower body area - not 'wash board abs'.

I think 33 days is a long enough period in which to see results. But thanks for your 'help'.

mikethedoofus: I have two pairs of dumbbells - 3 kg or 5 kg. Which one is better to get bigger muscles? Because I've learnt you can't tone that which you don't have!

without going too high, the highest weight will be better at building muscles.

you can have loads of muscles and not be toned, the same as you can be toned with only little muscle.

you look toned because of low body fat.

remember fight club? brad pitt does not have loads and loads of muscles, but he is toned to hell and looks awesome because of the low body fat.

i know and have seen a lot of people with little muscles and have wash board abs. yes they have to have a few muscles or there is nothing to show, but because of their low fat, you only see muscle.

hope that made sense.
