for those of you who air-pop your own popcorn kernels and then season it after.. what do you add?

i'm just getting into it and was wondering what to add.

Just salt. I hate sweet popcorn and I'm trying to lose weight so I don't put any butter or anything like that. Some of my friends have tried herbal flavoured salt which they say tastes really good! I personally don't like it, but I guess it's all down to trying it, and if you don't like it, never make it again! Maybe you can make a bowl of popcorn and get a plate with various toppings you think might go with the popcorn, and just trying a small bit so you won't ruin the whole bowl :)

I get regular no salt no butter popcorn and add either a little salt or this cheddar cheese stuff you can get at the grocery store.  It makes your popcorn taste like the white cheddar popcorn in the bag.  All you do is add like a half a cap full (i don't recommend the whole cap full because it is a little toooo cheddary, but whatever your taste is!) and shake the bag really well.  It's about 20 calories for a cap full that use for an entire bag.  They say you can use the cheddar seasoning for veggies and other stuff too (which I haven't tried yet) but it's pretty good and saves alot of calories.

BTW you can add it to fresh popped pop corn from a maker as well.... the oil helps it stick better too....

Chilli powder and cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese and ground pepper, lime and salt if I'm drunk, garlic and chives, powdered Ranch..
I like it plain.

But if I'm sharing with folks who like it salted, I add a little "I Can't  Believe It's Not Butter" spray so the salt will stick and I sprinkle a little salt on it.

Garlic powder & onion powder. yum.
I've never been able to do the whole sweet-popcorn thing, but I know some people sprinkle on splenda & cinnamon.

They also apparently make like white cheddar popcorn seasoning which I'm planning on trying eventually since I LOVE white cheddar popcorn =]
