Portioning calories help me please!!!!!!
Im new here and it my first day counting calories and it's hard!!!!!! you see my calorie target is 1550 but I have to eat 1250 to lose weight. So I have had a turkey and cheese sandwich (No mayo), 2 pieces of gum, a piece of triple chocolate cake, and a mountain dew soda. All that was 1,065 calories and I am still hungry. Can anybody give me some tips on portioning calories?????
Cut the cake and soda. It is hard but it will help a lot since they are a lot of empty calories. Or cut one or the other at the start.
Drink a lot of water, it will help you feel full faster and that way you won't eat as much as well. Also, it is important to stay hydrated and drink water in general.
Try hitting up the veggies/fruits. Veggies especially have a lot less calories than other foods--if you get a salad, just be careful of the dressings which is where you would get most of your calories.
Just because you didn't mention it...but exercise is a key componenent of any plan to lose weight. You don't want to be losing muscle--exercise maintains/builds muscle and burns fat. Not that you didn't know any of that, but just a reminder because it is often easier just to try and either do just exercise or just a diet to lose weight.
Thanx I think Ill cut the soda down a little bit. I could probably eat a little more if I cut the drinks down a little and drink more water. I disable so I can't exercise like I would like too. I allergic to fruit but you are so right about the veggies. I going to try it and also portion my calories for each meal!!!
It's good that you sound motivated--just keep that going. And any little bit helps, I hope you find cutting back on the soda helps some as well!
yea I try to stay motivated. I felt light headed last nite so I decided to lie down. After 30min I felt like I was goin pass out I had to eat. I went way over my calories. But today is a new day and I decided to eat a certain number of calories per meal. Breakfast was 273 calories and I feel great I even cut down on soda.
Thats awsome! Cutting back on the soda will help you ALOT! I have heard alot of stories of people just stopping the soda completley and they lost like 20 lbs by that alone! Not only does the soda hold alot of calories, it also has stuff in it to make you feel not full so that you eat more. Its a horrable cycle.
Once it is out of your system ( 3 days or so ) it wont be that bad. After about a month and you try to drink it again, it will be so gross.
Same thing for the unhealthy foods
Do you like coffee??? That is calorie free and gives Mt. Dew like caffeine. Seriously, though, if you want to lose over 100 pounds, why is your calorie target so low? I think mine is like 3000--I don't know, but I know I eat 2000 a day and lose 3 pounds a week--but I do work out 4-5 times per week. Also, all of my meals are 300-400 calories and I am always full. Time to explore healthier options, perhaps?
