You can lose weight without exercising, but many doctors are now saying that thin sedentary people are less healthy than fat active people.  If you can work in some walking or other exercise, that will help to reduce any visceral (interior of the abdomen) fat you may have accumulated that appears to be the most dangerous type of fat to have.  Surface fat should also be positively affected if you are eating healthily.  Exercise isn't mandatory for losing weight, but it's easier and healthier to lose weight if you add in some activity.
I think exercise speeds up weight loss. But you can lose weight with out going to the gym. Just make sure you eat healthy and stick to calorie restricting. You might not lose weight so quickly as you would excising though
And about the chocolates and bicies. Of course you can eat them all day. As long as they are accounted for in your calorie counting. But I think the problem with those is that eating a chocolate makes me more hungry. Sugar does that, and some chocolates have the same amount of calories as a full proper meal ? and probably more fat
Of course you can lose weight if you choose not to exercise. If you're eating less calories than you burn, you will lose. Regardless, your weight loss will go a lot faster and your body will look better with the help of exercise, to say nothing of the health benefits and better nutrition options in your diet. Trust me on this one, 105lbs of bone and fat is a whole lot less attractive than 105 lbs of healthy muscle tone. Do you REALLY want to look like Calista Flockhart?

As for the chocolates & sweets, your body needs more than calories to function. If you've somehow managed to find chocolate that contains all the vitamins and minerals, fiber, protein, carbohydrate, amino acids, and good cholesterol that your body needs, LET ME KNOW!

I hate excersising - well, i mean i hate the idea of having to go to the gym or having to go to a class.  I have lost weight by not excersising - i just enjoy walking places like to and from work, to the shop instead of driving or taking the stairs instead of the lift - i much prefer to encorporate more activity into my day otherwise it feels like a chore!!

i guess you could loose weigh by just eating chocs and junk that adds up to 1400 cals but i can't imagine you would be able to eat much before it adds up to that!  plus you will feel horrible - its better to eat lots of fresh fruit and veg which gives you much more energy and a healthier appearance.  Also, i would prefer much more variety - you will stick to it long term if you have variety!!

Good luck

also, if you love eating then you will be able to eat more if you excersise so it is an added bonus for someone who wants more food in their diet!
Hey sarah. I think you just came up with the best motivation LIKE EVER for excersising. REALLY. I never thought of it that way. I go for a walk every day, but now I'm going to add something. lol.!!!
I found when I didn't exercise my weight loss reeeally slowed, but that may have been because I had been exercising before. I've found fun ways to exercise like hula hooping, jumping rope, or taking walks. They're easy and you don't really neec equiptment.
You can do things like 20 or 30 minutes of Hatha Yoga stretching or 20 or 30 minutes of pulling weeds and lose weight.  I did Hatha Yoga and lost almost 50 pounds.  I hate exercise but I love Yoga.
I hate exercise, too...I happen to love dancing and martial arts which don't seem like exercise to me.  I'm also trying to do some weight work but I really don't like it...perhaps I just need to find a cute guy for a partner.

You can lose weight without exercise, but I think you're better off to exercise...try a lot of different things and see if you like any of them.

Yep, it's definitely possible. Over the past year my mom has lost 50 pounds from diet alone. (She went from 200 to 150.) She's 52 and has never excercised much. But now that she's lost all that weight, she's discovered she needs excercise to give her a shape! Now she hits the gym at least a few days a week.
