possible infection to my lip pericing :s

So recently I changed my stud for a ball and loop and now the piercing is stinging so much and bled yellow stuff a litte...I'm worried that it's become infected - even though I asked a piercer to change them around for me to avoid infections! I havn't a clue what to do or use in order to help prevent this possible infection from getting worse! Any help on this matter please?

 

When I got my navel piercing, I washed it with dial soap (for some reason, that was the best one to get, according to the piercer) and then put on neosporin twice a day. But that was for prevention, not dealing with an infection.

If youre going to clean a piercing, the best thing is SALT WATER, or saline spray. Don't use any soaps with dyes or fragrances.

It sounds just like irritation to me, that happens when I switch up some of my jewelry. If it doesnt go away after a week or two of cleaning it daily, then I would recommend you go to your piercing studio and ask the experts.

That happened to me right after i had gotten it done, dont use soap and DONT use neosporin, it traps germs inside, use very warm salt water, but make sure it's not iodized, and just clean it before and after bed, and after every meal.

salt water & diluted Listerine rinses are a godsend for lip piercings. It's probably just irritation from the change, but if it gets worse or doesn't get better soon, go get it checked out.

The mouth is filled with bacteria.  You punched a hole in your lip, now it's infected and you risk being scarred if you don't seek medical attention.

I have had my lip pierced for about 3 years and I had alot of what you are talking about in the first 6 months of it being pierced. It is probably infected.

You can either take it out and let it heal OR you can rinse with the mouthwash called Biotine, Gargle with sea salt mixed with warm water, clean the outside of your piercing with a clear soup (like dial) and take aspirin. That is what I did and it eventually got 100 percent better

I had some problems with mine at first. Dial is fine. A salt water mix is great too.

Using Dial is fine. I personally know several piercers and none of them say Dial is bad.
