possible to lose 30 pounds in 3 months?
It sounds like it's "possible", but still really, really pushing it. You are right that the weight loss will be harder the closer you get to a healthy BMI.
Does the answer yes or no matter, though? If not 30 pounds, then you could still lose a lot by may. Either way you want to keep doing what you're doing! Congrats on the weight loss thus far.
It's possible but not everyone's body will loose at the same rate. I think the main thing is just to be happy with whatever you do loose, and aim for that final goal even if it's not reached by May.
If you're like me, you might plateau halfway through. I lost my first 10 pounds quite fast but the next 5 took as long as the initial 10. However, while my weight may not be dropping as fast, I'm certainly noticing my clothes fitting me better or needing a belt for pants that are getting too big as I get into better overall shape.

can drop 30 pounds in one month if you know how to do it right and "healthy" i might add. So yes 3 months is far more than enough time.
30 pounds in one month is NOT healthy, no matter how you do it. Please stop posting misinformation.

If you're seriously obese, maybe. Otherwise.. how do you think you can do this, and healthily, I may add?

i've been losing 3-4 pounds a week...it's probably water weight...but even if it isn't, that's great. I don't care if it's not completely "healthy" being at the weight I'm at is very "unhealthy" for a 21 year old. If I can keep working doing what I'm doing with eating 1300-1500 calories...then I'm fine with losing 4 pounds a week
As long as you are getting enough calories....good and fine...and if you try to go radically under the calories you need, your body will just shut off the weight loss and go into starvation mode and your rate will slow. The body is self-regulating. We would ALL love to just stop eating and lose it all as quickly as possible...but if you do that you aren't un-learning the bad eating habits that got you overweight in the first place...and you will eventually gain it all back as quickly as you lost it.

I am 21 and my BMI is 35. I've drastically changed my workingout/eating habits, so the weight is coming off pretty quickly. I've lost 9 pounds since January 20th. I really want to try to lose 30 more pounds by the middle of may. If I keep working out after I wake up and eating around 1500 calories, do you think I can reach my goal by the middle of may? (about 2 pounds a week with 3 pounds hopefully on some weeks)
I just lost 10# in 41 days; no hard exercise, so you can do it.
I am worried about that fact that you are not making long term plans. A healthy meal plan and a healthy and realistic workout plan is what works. Ask yourself this question. Would I be able to continue weight loss if I broke my leg tomorrow? It sounds to me like you are trying too hard now and it is not likely to last. You might burn out. I have been there, done that. You most likely did not gain that weight in 3 months so why would you set yourself up to lose it in 3 months? If you slow down just a tad it is more likely to last a lifetime.
I wish you the best!
Since your BMI is high, you'll lose weight quickly at first. But as you approach a healthy range, it's going to get harder to lose weight. I don't know how much you have to lose, but just keep that in mind.
Good luck!
