by retaining lots and lots of water.  The sodium from the binge left you very bloated.  Drinks lots of water and in a few days you will be back down.

If you've been on this site since January, you should know by now, that unless you ate approximately 24,500 calories MORE than you burned, you didn't actually gain 7lbs.

Food and liquid (even water, which doesn't have any calories, and thus won't make you gain weight) has weight whether it's in your stomach, or in your hand.  Don't you think you'd weigh more if you held all the food you binged on in your hand and then stepped on the scale?

Not to mention, if you were binging, you probably had a lot of sodium, which could make you retain water on top of the weight of what you ate.  It'll go away on it's own as you digest your food and expel the waste, and drink enough water to negate the effects of the sodium.

If you're tempted to binge, your 'diet' probably is too restrictive.  You might want to rethink your plan.

There needs to be a read me first board to common questions like this...

In RE: to struggs, drinking more water will make you retain more due to the sodium in you. The sodium that goes through your kidneys is 95% reabsorbed, and when sodium is reabsorbed, water gets reabsorbed due to the osmotic pressure you just created.

At any rate, you should really know that  you didnt gain 7lbs, especially if youve been dieting and have experienced fluctuations first hand.
