Not possible for some to be a size 0?
Or a size 2, or 4. I'm about 5'4 - 5'5, and at my heaviest, I was 132 pounds. Now I'm 115 pounds, and while I can't deny my pants feel looser, and I have to wear a belt, it still seems I'm at the same size. At stores, I have to wear somewhere around a size 5-7, usually. And thats how it was before too. I'm usually happy at my current weight, but I was just wondering, could it be because all my fat seems to go to my stomach? I'll admit, I'm still flabby there. You might even call it skinny fat.
So is it really not possible for some to go down to the smaller sizes? It just seems that since I've lost over 15 pounds, I should have gone down a size. Or would I only go down a size if I lost the flab in my stomach?
I know how you feel. I used to feel like I was doing almost nothing because nothing seemed to be feeling any looser. But then all of the sudden it did. I needed to buy some new underwear, then jeans, then sweatpants, then pajamas, and now those are even starting to get a tiny bit lose. There was probably a month period where it seemed like everything I was doing didn't have effect.
I think for some people they lose the fat on their arms faster then their legs then stomach last. Maybe that's your case. You don't really notice losing any weight because all you are looking at is your stomach but you are losing weight from all over the place but there.
It is totally possible for some not to fit into certain sizes ever. Bones sometimes won't allow it.
I could lose 20 or 30 pounds and would probably only end up being a size 8 (I'm a 10 now). I'm just not built to be super slim. It really depends on where you carry your weight, whether you are muscular or not, and your bone structure.
When I had an ED and was at the point of being hospitalized, I only got down to a size 8. I have an hourglass shape, and no matter how thin I get, I still have hipbones! According to everyone who knew me, I looked TERRIBLE at a size 8. My goal is to get back to a 10, which I think is the lowest I should be as an adult and still be healthy and happy. I'm between 12-14 right now.
It drives me crazy to read posts about girls/women along the lines of "OMG, my size 2 jeans don't fit anymore!" For some people, it's just not possible.
Yeah, I was just gonna say... sometimes no matter how much you lose, how much fat has disappeared, you still got them pesky things called bones holding you together.
And they won't shrink! (I think lack of calcium only weakens them, I don't think they shrink..)
Just like your waist can only get so small, and if you wanna get to a certain inch size you'd have to remove a few ribs.
I've lost a lot of weight too but b/c I have muscular thighs I don't think I'll ever fit into a size 2. My waist might but not my thighs. I'm finally into a tight 4 and for the most part I really like the way I look right now. At least on a good day! :)
Also, I don't understand where people get the "10 lbs = 1 size" idea... it certainly didn't work for me.
I started out as a 11/12 (my highest 175 at 5'7")
And now at 140 with tons of exercise and a much better shape, I've gone down to a whopping size 9/10. And it's not a loose fit.
At this rate (35lbs=1 size), a size 0/1 would put me at... a negative weight.
Sometimes 5lbs lost will make me drop a size, sometimes losing 20lbs won't. Just depends on where the loss comes from.
But I'm pretty sure my skeleton wouldn't fit into a zero. Or a 2. Maybe a 6. Seriously, sz 2 and below won't reach from hipbone to hipbone on me.
Most people fit in a size 0 only until they're ten or twelve years old. It's basically a child size, since even very thin adult people cannot fit in, due to having larger skeletons/bones than a child.
Of course I can only speculate since we don't have a size 0 in Europe - I'm guessing it's something smaller than size XS in Germany.

I read somewhere that when you lose like 10% of your body weight, you usually lose a size. Although this doesn't seem true in your case...so, basically, I have no idea.
One a side note, European sizes run on the small size for sure. Usually I'm 2 or even 0 in some stores (I'm only 5'2") here in the states, but when I go to Europe I fit into 34-36. I guess it really depends on the store. I have 2 jackets from Benetton and they are size 40. I wouldn't guide myself much on sizes.
I think it is possible - but not a good idea for everyone, because a lot of people, unless they are short, would have to be underweight. Also it depends where you shop. A 0 at Banana Republic is going to be possible for a lot more people than a 0 at a high-end designer.
I can't speak for you since I don't know your body type, but at my current height, at my smallest I was about a size 3.... I'm 5'3 and at the time I weighed about 105 lbs and still couldn't get below that... I wasn't "skinny fat" either, I took dance classes several days a week and had a very toned frame. Everyone is built different some people just have larger frames and will never be super skinny without developing dangerous or unhealthy habits. Don't sweat it if you aren't that size, just learn what is healthiest and best for you and be proud of that. I'm in the process of trying to lose about 20 lbs but am realistic and know a size 4 is about as small as I can get without starving myself.
