Post baby weight loss group anyone?
So, I noticed we don't actually have a group for post baby weight loss yet. Would anyone like to start a group for support, accountability (lol) or otherwise? I'm game. We are all in the same boat.
I'm at 150 as of yesterday. That's down 1/2 pound from where I was 5 days ago. I also weighed myself after my birthday dinner which was probably a mistake! Exactly 20 pounds to go.

I weighed myself yesterday morning and I'm at 153. I really haven't lost anything since the end of August and that is really discouraging.
You haven't gained either, so maybe it's just time to confuse your body and try something new. Are you doing the same workout routines?
Bdasko- Welcome to the boards and congrats on your little one. Good luck on your walk to run program. You'll be jogging before you know it.
I haven't been working out much the last month or so. I got sick so I quit and then I was just too busy to start again. I started again this past week and I've been counting calories and already this morning the scale said 152/151! So I hope it's working!
Yes I'm game for a post-baby weight loss group... I actually came looking in the forums specifically for one :)
i am game too, would love to do one, count me in
Hi eveyone, I would llike to join your group too. My son is 5 months and I am 2 lbs away from my pre pregnancy weight. I would like to loose like 40 to be around 140. Maybe a little less but I need to set a realistic goal for myself or I won't do it. Does anyone on here live in Kansas City? If so maybe we can get together a walk in the mall now that the cold weather is here. I am one of those people that I do it better when I have a partner, however my husband and I don't really have any friends. They were all trouble and when we had kids we didn't want them around those people. My husband says he will go with me but we work opposite schedules so we can avoid a babysitter fee. And also he says that if you want to loose weight just work out. Duh, why didn't we think of that. He is very discouraging. He eats what he wants and alot of it and still stays at 135lbs. I usually wiegh in on Mondays so I will post then. I am new to cc and if anyone has any tips please let me know I am trying to find my way around, I think. Thanks.
i've never been so happy to get into my "fat pants".
now things are happening- and I want to keep it up. I'm on my diet like glue!!! i'm going down about .7lb's per week. I'll take it. It didn't even go up during ttom.
I forgot, btw, how awful that week is!!!
Well my official weigh in and measure day is tomorrow but I cheated and got on the scale this morning. I am at 151 which puts this month's loss at 3 lbs. 3 is better than none!!
Vanessa, I can't wait until I can squeeze into my 'fat pants!' I'm just starting to fit back into some of my regular clothes. I'm so sick of wearing maternity when Baby is already 2.5 months old. ![]()
I was at 158 this morning, down 1 pound from last week. I think I'm finally sticking to my calorie goals. I've been attempting to log everything I eat and all my activity, so hopefully I'll start seeing results again soon.
You'll get there, Cecily! It has taken me a good 6 months after my previous two pregnancies to really start losing so I basically went out and bought a whole new wardrobe. I figured if I had to be fatter than I liked, then at least I could feel somewhat better in clothes I liked. I'm hoping I'll start fitting into my "less fat" clothes in a few pounds from now.
For my official weigh in on Saturday I was 150 lbs and I was again this morning so it wasn't a fluke! I am really excited to break into the 140s. I have 14 lbs to reach my pre-pregnancy weight but I would like to lose 20 more lbs total.
Hello all. I am a little late, eh? I didn't weigh in on Friday for fear I may have a mental breakdown. Ella is so fussy and demanding that I was at my wits end last week. If I weighed in and gained or didn't lose I would have been so depressed. So, I didn't! Anywho, I braved the scale over the weekend and no loss, but also no gain. That's okay since I haven't been able to exercise like I want to because of princess fussy pants. She's crying herself to sleep as I type!
I may cry too. LOL!
Congrats to everyone. It seems like each of us is losing at some rate. We should all remember "fat pants" are better than maternity pants. Haha! Sometimes are bodies just take longer to regain there calorie burning potential. I think I need to focus on weight training to build back more muscle tone and any excess fat should go bye-bye quicker. My cardio benefits are exhausted. I've lost all I can that way. I'm down to love handles and about an inch of fat on my tummy and my butt is not as toned as it needs to be. I have "ghetto booty" now. LOL!
I need everyones prayers that my LO will learn to not fight sleep and soothe herself, so I can not be so stressed. I know that is a big deterrent in my fitness goals. I find myself eating bad foods more often than I should. I rush and grab snack foods like Kashi crackers and cheese or peanut butter and apples, but eat too many or too much. Plus, I have consumed more Redi-Whip than one human should in a lifetime. I just turn the can up and go nuts occasionally. It was totally stress induced! I buy it because my daughter likes it on Jello and applesauce. I also ate some snack size Almond Joys to soothe my depression the other day. It was pitiful.
I am doing better with restraint the last few days though. Hehe.
Ooh! She's sleeping. I am going to jump on the treadmill and lift some weights!!!!!!!!!!! (Not at the same time)
Shill, I'll see your Princess Fussy Pants and raise you a Sir Grumble Butt becase that's what I've got on my hands! Sounds like we're having the same problems.
My son is on a 2 hour schedule from 6am until noon then he's up pretty much all afternoon and fights sleep constantly. He finally gives up at about 7pm at which time he sleeps for about 6 hours, gets up for a feeding then sleeps for another 4-5 hours. He will soothe himself to sleep at night and his first round of sleep in the morning but other than that, it's fuss, fuss, fuss! He has a sinus infection courtesy of big sister so that's not helping right now either.
I'm getting to the point where I feel like I should have a somewhat pre-pregnancy body and I don't. I think I'm going to disobey the doctor and resume exercising next week. If I'm in too much pain after hitting the gym, it will just have to wait a little longer. Surely riding the bike for 30 minutes a day can't be that bad.
I just had to pop in here for a second and say Shill you are a beast(thats a good thing). When I start having children I pray that I bounce back as quickly as you did.

Bier- ((((((((Big hug)))))))) I hope your little one feels better soon.
I have learned that the lull of the treadmill helps Ella nap in the morning. Thank God! I have also been hitting my mom up to watch the babe some evenings long enough for me to catch a run around town. I did 4 miles last night and it felt soooo good. I was sweating like a pig and I loved it. I felt it today. My new runners are great. I couldn't wait to get a longer run outta them.
Hopefully, the doc will give you a go ahead to take your workouts a little harder.
Amayou- Thanks. I appreciate that. I think I was blessed with a body that is a bit more forgiving, but I do work hard to keep it in shape. I'm not getting any younger. I can't believe I am closing in on 30. (Okay, I have to get to 29 first, but still!) LOL! Are you thinking of having babies soon?
I weighed in Friday night at 149...down a pound from 2 weeks ago. The weight's not coming off nearly as fast as I'd like but I also haven't been working out. We'll see how it goes this week after resuming a regular exercise routine.
My son sure is packing on the pounds. I weighed him Friday night as well and he's up to twelve and a half pounds. Granted, that's not too accurate since I weighed myself then weighed myself holding him but close enough. I'm fairly certain my daughter didn't hit the 12 pound mark until she was 4 months old. If he keeps this up, he'll outweigh his sister in no time (she weighs 29 pounds).
I'm a little worried about the baby's "sinus infection." I called his doctor on Friday because he suddenly got worse (bouts of being unable to breath, choking often while eating, coughing and severe congestion) after being on amoxicillin for 10 days. The doctor switched him to a non-penicillin antibiotic used to treat pneumonia and said he should improve in a couple days. Well, it's been three days and he hasn't gotten better at all. Also, a week ago he developed a rash that looks like baby acne but has gotten progressively worse to the point it covers his entire face, neck, scalp and shoulders. I mentioned it to the doctor and he said it was most likely a symptom of whatever illness he has. I can't believe he's only 5 weeks old and this sick!
Poor babe. The good news is, he's gaining weight well. He's a big otherwise healthy boy. He'll kick this illness' butt. Babies just can't "hork it up" like adults so it takes longer to get it out. Gross, eh?
12 1/2! Lordy!!! Ella weighed in naked at WIC on Thursday at 9 lbs 12 oz. She's 2 lbs up from her birth weight at 6 weeks. 50th % for age. She's 21 3/4 in too; 1 in longer than birth.
How big was your peanut at birth again??
He was 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 21 3/4 inches. He's outgrown his 0-3 month clothes in length. My husband is 6'2" so I'm guessing he's going to follow in daddy's footsteps. He definitely doesn't look chunky but he's definitely long. He was 7 pounds when we left the hospital, 8 pounds, 7 ounces at 12 days old, 10 pounds, 9 ounces at 4 weeks. He's averaging a pound a week. Yikes!
Doh, well, I'm a little late... my Friday weigh-in set me at 122, but I also just got aunt flo (welcome back, honey!) I stopped bf two weeks ago and sort of hoped I'd start losing that last pudge, but nothing yet. Looking at calorie count, I've been officially stalled at 122 for a month now! >:/
I've only been hitting the gym two days a week for an hour each instead of four or five days, so I know that's part of it; just gotta get my butt back in gear. But my diet's been good, so I'm not sure what to change there... I'm getting about 1200 calories a day so I don't think I should dip below that... lots of protein, my carbs are good, not too much (or too little) fat.... but I know when I've lost weight in the past, I go well below 1200 (I've just got a pokey metabolism..it's the scottish in me, I guess) but I'm trying to be healthy about it this time.
So I also just changed my weight routine to be higher reps of moderate weight rather than fewer reps of higher weight so that it acts more as a cardio... hopefully that will help shake things up....
But I'll tell yah, I'm about ready to start popping pills, this is getting frustrating...
Hey, and congrats on all the big babies! My little guy (born 7'1) is now 20 at 6.5 months old... he's working on being a linebacker, sweet!
I would love to join this group too! I have 3 boys: 4yr 2yr & 4mos. I'm having a horrible time losing any weight this time. I think I've been the same weight since he was 2 weeks old. I'm working part time (still on partial FMLA) but have to go back full time in January......trying to get in a better eating/working out routine before then. I'm trying to eat better (and less) but not actually diet because I'm nursing and don't want to negatively impact my milk production or my baby. I cook well-balanced meals for my family but I often eat like I'm in a race...you know standing, refilling kids milk, getting them seconds, meanwhile I'm eating every chance I get!
I'm going to be getting a treadmill soon but for now have started using my WiiFit in the evening once the boys are asleep.
With 3 little boys grocery shopping can seem like a marathon so I'm really surprised my excess weight hasn't just melted away......which is probably part of my problem....expecting it to be easy.

Whew! I totally understand! I can't remember the last time I finished a meal while it was still hot!
I'm in!! This is like the third group I've joined, but the more the merrier!!
- Pre-pregger weight: 129lbs
- Weight at delivery: 188lbs
- after baby was born: 171 ( my son was over 10 pounds)
- as of Nov 17th: 134.
I'd like to get down to 120-125 range by the end of December. That would be awesome!!
I keep bouncing between 130-135 >-<, and I usually weigh myself once a week. (When I remember too) I have to look good in a backless dress for New Years, so I'm really concentrating on the upper back/arms/shoulders. I'm still running and doing legs and core, but really focusing on my back.
What can I do for plantar fasciitis?
