Post your best snack EVER!
i am having such a hard time picking a REALLY good snack. Please give me any ideas i am craving a great snack!! [ I love anything=]]
Reason: Moved from Health and Support to Foods.
What sort of cal range are we talking? I have many a tasty snack idea but some may not suit your diet needs. What sort of food do you like, too?
Saying that, generally: hummus and crudites and breadsticks, sardines in a tomato sauce mashed and put on toast, a banana spread with peanut butter (works with apples too, but I don't like apples), yoghurt with fruit and granola, oatcakes with nut butter or with jam or another preserve, or some cheese...
any calorie range really, just something to snack on maybe before bed and stuff. i love peanut butter, popcorn, vegetables, dark chocolate, chicken, cottage cheese, fruits anything really.
cottage cheese and peanut butter before bed. I know it sounds disgusting but it's actually quite good, and good for you. Nice balance of carb/protein/fat. You can also add other things, flax, fruit, shaved chocolate, etc.
yogurt cheese with garlic, sundried tomatoes and herbs, great for dipping veggies.
85% dark chocolate with almond butter (PB would be good too), one square is all you need!
I love food, I could go on all day!
Peanut butter and granny smith apples. Yum
popcorn with a warm mug of hot chocolate, mmm.
apple slices topped with warm vanilla yogurt and cinnamon powder! ![]()
Apples with peanut butter and cheddar. Oatmeal with bananas. Bananas and nutella on whole wheat toast. Hummus with anything (especially carrots). Baked potato chips (if I've been good) with homemade dip. Leftover baked chicken sliced thin with a little creamy cheese, fresh basil, and whole wheat crackers, maybe some fruit chutney on top (my mother in law makes killer chutneys).
The list goes on and on ^_^.
sugar free fudgsicles... it's like chocolate ice cream and at 40 calories each, I can eat two when I'm REALLY craving chocolate. Yum!

Ditto on that one :D
I also like sugar free pudding, or whole grain toast with honey
-i LOVE frozen grapes!...also frozen mangos and blueberries....it's hard to eat them fast.....
-i love silouhette yogurt (40 cal) plus all bran buds and fruit...leave the all bran buds to sit for a bit sooo good
-i second all the Pb and apple granny smith! i also like pb and banana
-kashi go lean crunch
-avacado with salt and pepper
-cucumber slices with lemon pepper
rather than sandwiches when i want a snack i use lettuce slices instead of bread and make lettuce wraps with dijon mustard
As a kid, I would always put a slice of chicken between two slices of cucumber... Delish and I'm really happy I remembered that now that I'm counting calories! Right now, I'm kind of stuck on the Laughing Cow wedges with wheat crackers. Very yummy!
When I was a kid I used to have onion and garlic dip with toasted soldiers because I loved the taste of garlic so much. LOL upon reflection it was probably pretty fattening but I didn't care because it was deeelicious.
On a slightly healthier note: apples, 100-cal popcorn bags, rice cakes with peanut butter ... ooh now I'm drooling.
Sugar Free Strawberry Jello with whipped cream, cinnamon rice cake with almond butter, kashi heart to heart cereal

Sugar Free Strawberry Jello with whipped cream
Mmm, I was just about to put that myself. I just started eating the 10 calorie Jello cups and bought a can of Cool Whip Lite (15 cals for 2 Tablespoons, I think). It shuts up my sweet tooth quickly and is so delish.
wheetabix spread with peanut butter or nutella
banana spread with peanut butter and sprinkles with granola
sweet potato fries
little balls of mozzarella wrapped in a leaf of basil
honeynut cheerios and dark chocolate baking bits
dark chocolate baking bits and dried cherries
homemade chai
larabar apple pie
hmm...that reminds me: baked apple with cinnamon
pudding with fruit, or just fruit, or fruit dipped in yogurt
mix dill and cucumber slices with plain greek yogurt
(i'm a pretty big fan of snacking)

umm...could someone please explain what toasted soldiers are? thx!
Seasoned pumpkin seeds. ![]()
Toasted soldiers are slices of toast cut into long rectangular strips (so cut in half, then cut in half the long way again). It's a British thing, but she also mentioned 100 cal popcorn bags and I cant' find those anywhere??? Hannahboots are you in the UK?
pb and granny smith is by far the best.
I also enjoy nibbling on prezel sticks through-out the day.
