darkylinky - a bmi of 22.8 isn't healthy big, it's just healthy. 24.8 would be on the high end of healthy, but 22.8 is pretty smack dab in the middle.

4'11" F / 21 / 90 lbs / 18.2 BMI (slightly underweight)

This is a good BMI calculator:

Thanks for your BMI calculator!

I just found out I had my height wrong! I am 174 in cm and never use feet/inches. I once guessed that I was 5'6", but the website puts me at 5'8".

It makes sense as I was finding it hard to compare with others my size and how much their goal weights were.

Thanks!

bmi= 29.4

24.5= bmi

I'm wondering how accurate that is, but I suppose it's a good estimate. I have built a lot of muscle over this past while, I'm thinking that might make a difference (?)

bmi: 19.8... "underweight"?

I don't like this calculator.. for an 'average' weight I would have to weigh 112lbs, but according to others I can be as low as -/+104lbs and still be in the 'healthy' range

My BMI is 27.5 and I'm a 5'4, 160 pound 24 year old female. However, whenever I do an online calculator of body fat percentage based on my measurements, I'm always well within the healthy range. I'm still not sure which test is more accurate (considering that BMI doesn't take muscle weight into account and my legs/arms are very  muscular). Still trying to get down to 135.

BMI: 16.2 (underweight)

I'm trying SO hard to gain! :(

The "underweight" range is just intended to indicate that if you have to kill yourself to stay that weight, it's not a good idea but if you're naturally that slim and can maintain it while eating reasonably and exercising regularly (but not excessively), you're fine.  It's a buffer region so that you don't go straight from "healthy" to "OMG!  way too skinny!  at risk for medical problems!"  Besides, you're only 0.2 under 20 - not exactly far out of the official "healthy" range.
