Post the fun things you have ever done that doubled as a good workout :)
Exercise doesn't always have to be 40 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weightlifting in the gym.
Some of the alternate activities ive done that probably burned some calories...
-Dancing like a maniac in my room to crazy music
-Rearranging the furniture in my room
-Holding a "photoshoot" in the park with my sister for a few hours with lots of crazy poses and jumps. (hey, after a few hours this could burn a good number)
-Painting a house for 6 hours (somewhat time consuming i guess)
-Spending the entire day at the mall, avoiding the food court :P
-Making icecream myself with an old-fashioned churn (and going around the neighborhood giving it to my neighbors after :P)
- re-shingling the roof with my ex. it was super hot outside and fun aside from what hard work it was.
- dragonboat races
- being first mate on my cousins 24' 1972 Bristol - everyday on a sailboat is a workout - especially when the lake whips into a tempest
- piling 10 cord of firewood
- bonsai hunting - a little diggin, a little rock climbing, and a little hiking.
- cleaning a friends new house with a crew of 10 pals. the house was left a total disaster and we worked from dinnertime until 2am. it was fun but sweaty as we scrubbed every wall, washed every window, and cleaned the carpets as well as the appliances that were left.
sex.
soccer
dancing
basketball
walking around with friends
playing with pets mainly running through the house
playing tag with my friends' kid
hand picking crabs.... wading through chest deep water, then chasing the little buggers around with a net, and trudging back to drop it off in your cooler and repeating.
fun :)
Horseback riding;
Bike riding for no particular purpose other than to enjoy time with my husband;
Walking through the woods;
Painting my daughter's bedroom -- with her;
Moving my daughter to college (once I got past the separation anxiety!);
Washing the car in the driveway with my husband -- the water fights were always the best!
Camping with my girlfriends -- just the girls -- we did everything ourselves and had an amazing time.
Edit: Playing twister (even better after a couple of cocktails); Dancing -- all kinds!
Snowboarding. Winter can't come soon enough for me.
I, too, enjoy dancing like a maniac, preferably at outdoor concerts.
Scrounged 2 antique tennis rackets out of his parents basement
Bought a 3 pack of tennis balls - 1 went immediately to the dog, the other 2 went to the park with us
Spending an hour chasing down the ball because neither of us have any idea how to play tennis XD Somehow Wii tennis just isn't quite the same. We made up our own rules in the end, and it was the tennis version of Calvinball
Getting lost in a corn maze, no choice but to walk your way out.

CC is doing it wrong!
Also, going to an @ss kicking show, fighting your way up front and thrashing about for 90 minutes is an excellent work out, a great way to get of frustrations and FUN
I probably burned 1000 calories just trying to survive the Rage Against the Machine show. Same with Girl Talk, although I wasn't expecting to fight for my life during a mash up DJ type set.
Beach/pool volleyball
Golf (playing 18 holes burns a lot even if you don't walk the course)
Jiu-jitsu
Dancing
Just a few of the ones I enjoy most.
scuba diving
walking around theme parks in HOT weather
strawberry picking
oh and i participated in the worlds largest pillow fight :O
- dancing and jumping on the bed/trampoline listening to music
- playing street ball with guys who think girls can't play, then gracefully smashing them
- racing around the room dragging and pushing a cardboard box full of my son
- climbing a tree to get the perfect picture x10
- rolling down a snowy hill, then racing back up to do it all over again
- swimming after my dog that won't stop wandering out into the ocean after a bird
- bowling with the elderly at my nursing home I work at (most of them need to be walked to and from the lane - bigger workout than you think)
- watching the Olympics, then think that maybe if I had the right training that *I* can do it to - and start teaching my son how to do cartwheels and backflips
- Being at the best concert of my entire life
- Taking a walk with my son, only it turns into a puddle jumping competition
- playing tether ball with my lil Cuz
- white water rafting
Good thread!
- Taking random, no destination walks (especially in the sand or snow!)
- Snowboarding in DEEP powder. Man, I want to know how many calories it takes to dig out of a tree well. SO worth it though.
- Related to the previous one, climbing on a roof, in order to sled off of it
- Kiteboarding, and having to WALK through water to go upwind cause you still suck. :(
- Sight-seeing
- Dancing when no one can see me
- Shopping!
Snowboarding
Wakeboarding
Walking 18 on the golf course
Kicking my 15 year old brothers butt in Tennis.
Softball
Riding my new tandum bike with my wife to the bar and grocery store.
Partying!!
Long walks through the city/country/beach
Hiking up hill along the most beautiful (AND steepest) trail
Shopping, yeah :)
Fast dancing
Sex . . . sometimes ;) (You know it's a good workout when, afterwards, you think "this burns more than after the thigh-cruncher machine!")
- Playing chase with my two boys they love it & we laugh a lot
- playing soccer when I get a chance
- Walking around the zoo
Back when I was in my 20s, unmarried, and no kids, I'd dance every song (live bands) when out at my favorite place 3-4 nights a week. This is AFTER running workouts about 5 times a week, too. I danced all by myself sometimes, no one else even on the dance floor. It was SO MUCH FUN and I really, really miss that!!
I love to go to a waterpark with my kids, climbing up the stairs to the rides, etc. I'm pretty fearless and I do all the really high ones, so I get a ton of climbing in while having a great deal of fun with my kids.
Climbing up to see temples on the mountains in Korea made for amazing workouts that were awe-inspiring and fun, too. So did just traipsing around foreign cities whenever I have traveled. I move fast and see a lot, although I don't necessarily go in to every site.
-Dance Dance Revolution when you are a little tubby and still suck at it. Oof...all that jumping.
-Reorganizing the shelves
-Lunchtime walking to explore the campus (wear good shoes...I have blisters!)
