Post Meals, Share Information, Weigh in every Monday! Everyone welcome
Hi Everyone,
*So I've revised this group because I want to be able to share information, get ideas, and be held accountable. I think by having more members that I will benefit more from it!
Since there are a lot of us Maritimers here I thought I would create a group where we can connect and have weekly weigh-ins. I'm also going to track my inches because losing inches is my main target right now.
I'll be posting my starting stats tomorrow morning and we'll have the weekly weigh-in every Monday! Maybe this will help us curve our weekend appetites :)
Please add anything else you wish to share ..i.e receipes, daily menu, workouts etc.
Jenn (NS)
Okay. Yesterday. It was a full day filled with appts, errands and I am teach 3-4 yr/o kids at an evening church program, so it wasn't a fabulous eating day. I had cereal for breakfast, 12" sub from Subway (half for lunch, the other half for supper) and an apple. Hmm, I think maybe that's it. As a side note about the sub, if I'm going to have one, it's got to have the cheese and mayo on it. BUT, but... I chose light mayo. :)
Now today I am back to healthy eating! Here's what's on the menu for today:
Breakfast- Raisin Bran Crunch & 1% milk. I just love that cereal, it tastes like a raisin square!
Lunch- rice chip things, PB sandwhich
Supper- stir-fry veggies with strips of chicken. Maybe served on whole wheat pasta. Undecided.
Snack to eat while watching American Idol- likely an apple, some almonds, and sunflower seeds.
For exercise today I went for an hour long walk on the ice crust. Included in the walk was pulling my 2 youngest kids on the toboggan and doing some sliding (broke a blood vessel in my pinky when I was going down the hill- ouch) And although I really really don't feel like working out today, I will make myself do so when I get offline.
Jenn, is your dogs name Molly? Thats my kitties name too! And yesterday I picked up some of that weight control oatmeal. My husband ended up eating it. But, I will try it again tomorrow (I think I made it too thick- I could've eaten it with a fork and knife!)
Good job today! I can't believe you have 3? kids!! You look sooooo young :)
Yes, my dog's name is Molly :) I love that name..very cute.
I hope you like the oatmeal! If it doesn't do it for you, then you might want to try the regular oatmeal rather than weight control...the other isn't really that bad and trust me it does take a tad bit better. I put mine in a cup and always tend to get the right amount of water to make it just right. I can't begin to tell you how good I've done this week in the evening!! Monday night I had hot chocolate, last night I had some yogurt and tonight some almonds heheh..so proud of myself.
Anyway, I better go to bed! Chow
Ok, here goes another day! It was a VERY slippery walk this morning...lots of snow and freezing rain last night..yuck.
B: Oatmeal on the go bar, Banana
S: Pinapple chunks
L: Chicken wrap with ff sour cream, salsa, lf mozz, green pepper and chicken, activia yogurt

Thanks! That pic was taken while my hubby and I were having a second honeymoon in PEI last summer, the kids were with his mom and the days were spent on the beach- it's enough to make anyone look young! I weighed 113 then...but, I will again!
Today was another day around the town, so not a great eating day, but here's what it consisted of:
B- Raisin Bran Crunch with 1% milk
L- 6" chicken ceasar sub from Quiznos (920 cals- not good!!)
S- fries and a handful of almonds
Since I've already gone over on my cals for today, I'm currently on the bike...sore as can be from yesterdays workout.
Jenn, you mentioned that you're getting married- is it this summer?
Great job, btw, on your evenings. I used to have a problem with evening snacking. As soon as the kids were in bed I would be walking downstairs at 8 o'clock and head right to the kitchen for the snacks. Every single night. It would be like this: 7:59pm not hungry, 8pm starving. It was just such a habit. I'm doing a bit better now, but I still slip up sometimes.
Since I went over my cal allowance today by 360, I'm going to bike off 360. Does it work like that do you think?
I'm 23
5'8" and weigh about 140 pounds.
I would like to lose 5-10 pounds.
Not sure about my measurements.
Yay, another poster :)
This is going to be a bad day for me, way too much going on and way too many meetings.
B: Banana
S: Activia yogurt
L: 6" Turkey sandwich from Subway, with tomatoes, cheese, light mayo and mustard...not great I know but I hate their lettuce and I can't eat their subs without cheese and mayo.
S: Handful of almonds
D: NO idea...
Steph - I am getting married in August...so want to make sure I look AWESOME for my big day. Curious, you want to get down to 113? Aren't you the same height as me? 5'6? I would look like I was starving to death if I was that weight....our bone structure must be different. Oh and back to the you look young! You go girl you look like a million bucks after having 3 kids :) And yes, if you work off those extra cals, you should be fine!
Hope everyone has a great day today! TGIF
You're definitely on the right track for looking awesome for your wedding, are you still holding off on daily weighing? I'm excited for you when Monday comes!
My wedding was in August- this year is our 13th anniversary! Wow, how time flies!
I'm going to post my stuff later today after I've decided what to eat, I'm trying to get into exercise mode- I've gotten dressed for it now I just have to get offline and do it!
Thanks!! I need the encouragement! I have held of weighing myself but honestly can feel a difference, not just weight wise but I feel better this week...other than my damn cold.
What date was your wedding? 13 years...wow! Congrats on that...not many people stay married these days.
Good luck with the exercising...I'm stuck at my desk...blah!
Got married on the 19th...we talked about going to Italy this August but we're not sure yet- it's so expensive!! The passport pics have been taken but so far that's it. We'll see.
Here's the word so far today;
Breakfast- Raisin Bran Crunch with 1% milk
Lunch- 1 C of homemade chili and 15 Tostitos rounds
Snack- 16 Quaker sour cream & salsa corn and rice chips
Supper- 1 C mixed veg, 4 strips of turkey, 1/2 C brown rice
Snack- almonds & cashews, maybe some sunflower seeds (I really like the dill flavor Spitz), probably 2 Hershey kisses
I started a new med this morning that I was told may make me retain fluids and increase my appetite, here's hoping that's not the case for me!
I nearly forgot...I did 20 mins core exercise. I also jumped rope for 5 minutes, plan on doing another 5 or 10 later today. I can't do it for long amounts of time, it's too hard on my forearms.
Jenn, is it snowing in NS? It's snowing here yet again. Not hard but steady. At least it beats the freezing rain!
Italy would be beautiful, a lady I work with went last Summer and she said it was Amazing! Our wedding is set for August 2nd, and we are headed to NY for our honeymoon :) Very excited.
Your meals look good today, I like seeing choices other people make, gives me some ideas.
Not snowing here, YET! Its suppose to start tonight and snow about 10-15 cm and then we are suppose to get 30-40 on Sunday!!! I really wish spring would just come.....thankfully I'm close enough to walk to work so there is no need for me to be out on the roads :)
I'm getting back on track eating lots of good healthy foods this week :)
Hi Everyone,
I'll post what I'm going to eat later...headed out to an event this morning. I volunteer with Dress for Success. After that I'm getting my hair done :)
I need to get my hair done pretty bad, but I'm waiting until my bangs get a bit longer so I can have the style I want. All of my life I wanted to shave my head, just once, and I did that 1 1/2 years ago so my hair is still growing back, slowly but surely. Although I don't regret doing it I probably will never do it again- I looked like a boy going through chemo! Not a good look for me!!
This morning I made a great big breakfast for hubby and kids consisting of scrambled eggs, 1 pound of bacon, and plate size chocolate belgian waffles with choc chips added in. While they pigged out on that stuff, I had 1 C of shreddies with 1% milk and 1 piece of bacon. Here's the plan for the rest of the day:
Lunch- PB sandwich and protein shake consisting of protein powder, 1/4 C of choc ice cream, 1 tsp of caramel syrup (it's the only way I can stand to drink those foul tasting things. I wouldn't bother with them but I want the large dose of protein that they provide)
Supper- 1/2 C whole wheat pasta with mixed veg and turkey
Snack- fat free choc pudding, apple, almonds
Exercise for the day is 45 mins cardio on the recumbent bike and I might do my arms weight routine which takes about 20 mins.
I won't be posting tomorrow, it's going to be a busy day for me. Hubby and I are going on a date and although we will be eating out, I'm going to keep the Monday morning weigh-in on my mind while ordering at the restaurant!
Have a good day everyone...I'm excited for Monday!!
I'd love to join you too. I live in Ontario...I'm tired of the snow and cold and I can't wait for spring to arrive.
My name is Melissa. I'm 31, married with a little girl who's turning 2 in a few weeks.

queenmedia...I'm so impressed that you just stuck to your shreddies after making that delicious breakfast for everyone else...that's some strong willpower.
So, here is my day today:
breakfast: apple and some animal cookies (we were off to an appt so I just grabbed something quick)
lunch: chicken breast, steamed cauliflower and broccoli and 10g of dark chocolate
snack: cereal w/1% milk and some pineapple
dinner: mexican black bean soup, more cereal and whole lot of chocolate (that was my snack too)... :(
I ended up having 1426 calories yesterday...so not terrible, but it wasn't full of healthy stuff...
And just to forewarn you, I tend to use a lot of my calories in the evening. I have a serious sugar addiction - I'm trying to work on that, but it's hard to get past it.
