Hi Everyone,

 *So I've revised this group because I want to be able to share information, get ideas, and be held accountable.  I think by having more members that I will benefit more from it! 

Since there are a lot of us Maritimers here I thought I would create a group where we can connect and have weekly weigh-ins.  I'm also going to track my inches because losing inches is my main target right now.

 I'll be posting my starting stats tomorrow morning and we'll have the weekly weigh-in every Monday!  Maybe this will help us curve our weekend appetites :)

Please add anything else you wish to share ..i.e receipes, daily menu, workouts etc.

Ohhh finals always gave me the munchies LOL, just try and pick the right munchies, as hard as that is!

What do you mean a 500 cal deficit for a month?  As in everyday?  WOW...that's hard!  I wish I could do that...maybe I could start that challenge with you?  I have my wedding dress fitting on June 21st...and I NEED to lose more!

 

That is a hard challenge! You can do it though! I'm going to get back on track with posting what I eat and then updating it for the actual- it's harder to eat poorly if I know that I'll be coming back on here and telling you if I did well or blew it.

Today is so far so good...I had a few snacks that I probably shouldn't have, but they totaled to about 200 calories, so I can easily incorporate that into my daily amount.

I'm all melancholy today. Not only is it cold & grey outside, but I have a slew of cleaning to do and no motivation. My grandparents are in town & the whole fam is getting together tomorrow at my house. My husband is golfing & I have a messy house to clean before I cook all day tomorrow for Mothers' Day. Ironic, right? I hate sounding like a martyr, but man. Can't a momma catch a break?? I get no love! Ugh!

Yesterday we all went out to eat lunch & thanks to my suggested tapas restaurant I managed to stay in control. Tapas is awesome. I love having little bits of things. It leaves me so fufilled without eating too much.

Then, dinner. Ugh. Burgers & milkshakes! Can you believe that?! Needless to say my family members are obese. My grandmother has had 2 (!!!) gastric bypass surgeries! 

Anyway, I ate 1/2 burger & 1/4 milkshake & felt great. Today, however, even though I didn't go "over," & I know there aren't "bad" foods & I freaking love ice cream (!!) I can't help but feel all gut bombed out. You know? Calories shmalories, all that greasy food is just keepin' me down! Or maybe it's that I am martyring out instead of pampering myself. I am such a schmuck!

Melancholy schmelancholy. Ugh. Embarassed I hope everyone is having a better weekend than I am!

aww, Carley, maybe having so much to do and being so busy is a good thing and will take your mind off of snacking/overeating!  And you're completely right, regardless of calories, "bad" foods always get me down too.  But think about the tapas.  So many cute bites of good food for so few calories.  You've found the perfect solution to eating out.  I'm sure you'll do better eating-wise in the next few days.

I don't think I hit my 500 calorie deficit tonight.  Big party, and tequila (blech), and munchies (cereal and a large cookie)...  Oh well, I danced and jumped around a lot, so that burns calories, right?

I had forgotten about the party before I made my 1 month challenge...Should I start over or just ignore tonight's calories?

IGNORE IT! It was simply a metabolic booster to kick start your deficit building Wink

lunch - coffee, bagel (I can spare the calories since I woke up so late!)

soccer game study break

dinner - chicken salad w/ 1 slice of bread

back to studying! I'm jealous of your sex and the city marathon, haha.

Good Morning everyone!  It was a good one for me today!! :)

Week 1 = 143.5, Week 2 = 140, Week 3 = 138.5, Week 4 = 140.5, Week 5 = 138, Week 6 = 136.5, Week 7 = 139, Week 8 = 139

This week's weight = 135.5 ( This was my weight on Thursday, and Friday as well)

Can you believe we've been at it this long??  Still a ways to go for me...but I feel much better about things this week.

bad night...and morning.

first of all, weigh in: 131
up 1 lb from my starting weight.

second, I was so hungry last night that I couldnt sleep!  and I tried to ignore it for 2 hours, and eventually gave up and got up and had a granola bar.  =o(  I guess 500 deficit is too much to keep up.

third, I woke up starving too, and the only thing I had in my room (I had to rush to an exam) was chocolate.  So that's what I had for breakfast.  Dark chocolate.  And a lot of it too.

sooooo I'm going to go back to bed after my exam and pretend none of this happened. Wink

I feel like it should be worse after the terrible eating week I've had. Yesterday we went out to eat and I went for almost broke- I had clams and chips. I only ate half of my fries but figure that it was a 1000 calorie meal. Then those little 2 bite buggers did me in- I had 5 of them! Thanks goodness the only other things I had to eat the whole day was my cereal and a granola bar.

Opa, there should be some sort of natural law that anything consumed during exam time does not count! Same with PMS time! It's a terrible feeling to go to bed hungry and not be able to ignore it- it's good that you ate. Don't give up on your 500 deficit goal yet- get past these exams first and you may find it much easier going! Hang in there!

Do you know, I've never once seen Sex in the city. Carley, when I first read your post, I was skim reading all of them and I thought you said that you were cleaning and were then going to have a sex marathon! lol- I was like whoa!- that girl's going to have fun burning calories!! haha

Thanks ladies, and yes, I was practically running to work this morning! Let's hope I can keep it up..40 days until my fitting for my dress...yikes.

Opa - don't worry, it's exam time...once you are done I'm sure you will be back on track!! :)

Went to the doc today, he said he's pretty sure my cyst ruptured but is sending me for an ultrasound, which is good news.  He also gave me some diff meds for my hypothyroidism..might help with the weight loss as well as all my weight has been gained mostly from that disease.

Hope it's sunny where everyone is!

Ummm...haha! I'm guessing you're saying this to me as I'm the only one here currently at that weight! What are you talking about "so tall"? lol- there's only one inch difference in our heights- I'm 5'6"!! :D

Jenn, did the hypothyroidism cause you to gain much weight since before you were diagnosed? I have a friend that has it and she really struggles to lose weight because of it. Hope all turns out well with the ultrasound and the new meds!

B- the usual :)  (check)

L- ham sandwich with tomato, lettuce, onion, red pepper, salad with the same as well as carrot and celery and 3Tbsp of low cal french dressing (check)

Supper- 1C chili, 20 rounds (check)

snacks- moccaccino bar, apple,rice cracker (didn't have the apple, had a handful of chips instead)

Before I was diagnosed I had gained about 15 lbs.  Once I was diagnosed and medicated I still kept going up on the scale, total of about 25 lbs all together.  Now, I don't have as much trouble losing because I take meds that are working for me, or somewhat..I usually have to have them adjusted slightly which I am right now......I can understand your friends frustrations, it's very discouraging when there is nothing you can do to lose :(  Hopefully she gets on the right meds soon (I know it can take upwards of 6-7 months) for them to kick in. 

queenmedia: jeez... i saw you post your height in another forum & 5'6 sounded really tall! I guess it's the short girls' complex. 1 inch seems like an amazon!

Jenn & Carley, that's what 3" heels are for! My latest Value Village treasure- a brand new pair of black leather boots with pointy toes and stiletto heels from Aldo- $7!

Yesterday went really well for me even though I gave into temptation and had a handful of chips (which I nibbled to make them take a long time to eat) while watching Pirates III.

Going to town today with a friend and no kids! Looking forward to it!

B- the usual=270 (check)

L- same as yesterday- ham sandwich with tomato, lettuce, onion, salad with the same as well as carrot and celery and 3Tbsp of low cal french dressing=400  (check)

Supper- chicken yakisoba=507 (check)

Snacks- coffee (maybe a couple!), moccaccino bar=340 (didn't have these, instead had a small Kit Kat McFlurry with oreo and caramel added in, 2 bites of hubbies Indy whopper, 4 bites of poutine- estim. 700)

Total for the day=1517 (1877)

The sun is shining and warm, but the wind here is so cold that you can't go out and enjoy it! Bah!

Ok, I just heard about this amazing new chocolate that is on the market.  One of our biggest clients rep told me about it this morning.  She has even bought shares in it and is selling it herself!

Soooo, I've been hearing a lot about Jillian Michael's (biggest loser trainer) dvd "30 day Shred it" and soooooooo I bought it on Amazon today!  I read the reviews and couldn't believe the results people were seeing!  I'll let you know how it goes :)

Day so far:

1-2am study snack - cookie

gym (to burn off those cookies)

breakfast - clif bar, coffee w/ soymilk

lunch - egg whites and turkey on a bagel, half cup of chicken noodle soup

snack - lollipop

early dinner - half of large chicken and falafel salad w/ tahini

around 1200 so far

plans for later:

later dinner - other half of salad (this will put me around 1400 cals, i think)

and I'll allow myself a treat if i have the study munchies again.

Just to rant, I hate it when I order something and I ask for dressing on the side or other things to make my food healthier and the waiter/server doesnt listen or gets angry.  The guy messed up my order today and LOADED my salad with dressing on top, so I asked him to take the top later (with all the dressing) off, and he got really angry with me.  Undecided  not going back there anytime soon, haha.  Thankfully I'll be making my own salads when I go home this summer Smile
