Post Meals, Share Information, Weigh in every Monday! Everyone welcome

Quote  |  Reply

Hi Everyone,

*So I've revised this group because I want to be able to share information, get ideas, and be held accountable.  I think by having more members that I will benefit more from it!

Since there are a lot of us Maritimers here I thought I would create a group where we can connect and have weekly weigh-ins.  I'm also going to track my inches because losing inches is my main target right now.

I'll be posting my starting stats tomorrow morning and we'll have the weekly weigh-in every Monday!  Maybe this will help us curve our weekend appetites :)

Please add anything else you wish to share ..i.e receipes, daily menu, workouts etc.

Jenn (NS)

Welcome back Carley!! :)

Again, I did AWESOME yesterday...but I think TOM is coming, feel bloated :(

Today:

B: Activia, Nature Valley bar

S: Banana

L: Half Pita w/tuna, carrots, green pepper and cheese, apple sauce

S: 100 cal pack bits & bites

D: Salad with blue menu herb & garlic chicken skewers yum!

I did alright yesterday, I think. I ate 2450 calories!! BUT- I had a 500 calorie deficit. I'm thinking that you can have too much of a good thing. I love exercising that much, but when I weighed myself this morning I'm up from yesterday.

I'm going to exercise less today, therefore eat less. I don't want to mess around too much- I'm leaving in 13 days!

ONLY 13 days!!! You must be sooooooo excited :)

 I sure am!! :)

So much to do in such a short time! Italy is supposed to be pretty hot and I don't handle heat really well (I'm the type to wear tank tops in winter). We're taking the laptop, so although I won't be weighing in- the scales are staying at home!- I'll say hi and post a pic or two!

I hope you make out ok with the heat Steph, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time!! Can't wait for the pictures.

Here's today's food:

B: Activia, Half nature valley bar

L: Roast Beef on Multigrain with mustard, apple sauce

D: ??

I'm heading right home to Parrsboro after work for the weekend so evening food is in ?  I'm having my bridal shower tomorrow so I'm sure I'll indulge a bit but I'm ok with that...I was down 1.5 lbs on the scale this morning :) Hope that will happen on Monday !!

Have a wonderful sunny weekend!

Well, it's definitely not sunny here! But that's alright! Yay for dropping some weight Jenn! Your fitting is coming up soon as well, right?

Yesterday was a town day which = eating out. The damage; Wendys classic meal (900 cals) and a 6" Quiznos Jalepeno beef an cheddar (I don't even want to know the cal count on it!). So I went over but alright. I'm now trying to figure out how to do damage control!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Congrats on your weight loss, Jenn.  And have a great time at your bridal shower!

Steph - my mom is also deathly afraid of the heat, and so my dad bought this portable air conditioning necklace for her.  It's terribly tacky though, so she never uses it.

Welcome back Carley.  Your festival sounded yummy Tongue out

I've been reading this book "Intuitive Eating" lately about following hunger cues instead of constantly thinking about food or restricting, and it's really keeping my binges at bay.  Unfortunately, it's starting to get very science-y now, and frankly, it's summer vacation and I don't feel like learning serious stuff!  I think I'll just read the intro chapters if I ever feel disheartened again.

Today so far:

breakfast - honey wheat bagel, gala apple, coffee

planned:

lunch - salad w/ Sesame dressing (I'm excited, I've never had it)

gym, soccer game

dinner - ?? I might take my mom out to dinner.

I get bored easily at night.  Any ideas or movie recommendations?

Opa, gala apples are my favorite! Lately I find myself eating 2-4 of them a day! I usually put PB on one or 2 of them!

I'm not a really big movie watcher, I kind of go in spurts.I'd much rather sit down with a book, but that leaves one hand free for snacking :S

I started a Stott- Pilates workout DVD- it's 35 minutes long. I did it yesterday and today. I'll likely aim for doing it 5 days a week. Also today I pedaled 500 cals on the bike and I mowed the lawn (push mower, not self propelled). That took me an hour. Aside from the black flies, I love mowing. At least the mosquitos aren't here yet!

This morning the scales said 3.4 pds less than yesterday! I just wish that it was actual fat loss!

See you all tomorrow!

Thank you for the kind words ladies!

Opa - the book you are reading sounds very interesting, I'm going to look for it on amazon!  I love reading :)

Steph - I actually like the sounds of your "day out" yum! I know it was probably hard to eat like that but good at the same time.  I LOVE wendy's but have to stay away because my FAV is chicken nuggets...

So my weekend went really well, lots of great times with family and friends and I didn't do too bad eating until last night.  Had half a big bag of chips and a mars bar! Going to recap my weight loss/gain over the last 11 weeks!

Today- 121.4

I just noticed something- My scales have this thing for even numbers. I don't ever remember being a .5 or .1. Strange.

Great job Jenn! 7pds down is awesome! Are you looking to get to a certain weight by your wedding, or what is your overall goal?

I'm still reaching for the 115 range, but wouldn't mind being this weight if I could lower my fat%. We'll see how that goes.

So glad to see the sun! Now if I could only go outside without being swarmed by flies! Maybe in September. :D

Good job Steph, at least you didn't gain any weight! I'm looking to reach 130 but not sure if I can get there!! I'll keep trying though.

Wonder where everyone is??

Today:

B: Usual yogurt, granola bar (300)

L: Malba toast and bruschetta mix, apple sauce (400)

S: Bits & Bites (100)

D: Chicken scewers and salad (~400)

S: Popcorn (100)

Going to do my vid again tonight! I've lost 1/2 inch off both thighs, 1 inch off waist and 1/2 inch off hips since starting her vid and I've only done it about 7 times!  Need to try and do it everyday from now til my fitting.

WOW! That's really great on the inches lost- have you found that some of your clothes no longer fit?

Today is planting potatoes day, and I can barely lift my left arm due to carrying heavy buckets of fertilizer and potato seed!. I'm on lunch break- 6 rows down, 14 more to go.

Tomorrow is planting strawberry plants. That's not so bad though, It takes time, but you sit on a planter.

Yes, my jeans are fitting different already....starting to get baggy.

I'm proud I did my vid last night and then again this morning at 6:30!!! woohoo...let's see if I can keep it up.

Wow, Steph...you really did work hard y'day.  My gramp used to have a farm and I know just how much work it can be!  Bet you are sooooore this morning :)

Today's plan (not much food in the house, need groceries tonight)

B: Usual, yogurt, granola bar (300)

L: Large bowl of Healthy Choice Minestrone soup, 11 multigrain wheat thins (310)

S: 100 cal pack of popcorn (100)

D: No idea yet but something that adds up to 600 cals

You are so right about the sore thing Jenn!! I ache almost everywhere! My right forearm is even swollen from carrying the bucket by hooking the handle over it. I need some Rub A535!!

You're doing really great with your meals these days Jenn! I'm doing alright- working through a PB craving thing lately though! PB and butter on a toasted white hamburg bun, weird sounding but so delish!

Thanks for noticing Steph...I'm really trying to eat well.  Have you been busy busy with the planting still?

Today:

B: Activia, Granola Bar

S: banana

L: Potatoe Salad (found a great low cal recipe that is SO yummy!!!) applesauce

D: Veggie Stirfry

28  300' rows of potatoes and 4000 strawberry plants now in the ground! And my arms are no longer sore, yay for that! I want to plant my vegetable garden before I go, but I only plant peas and corn, so it shouldn't take me to long.

Everything seems to be growing so fast! One day the trees were bare, and the next everything was leaved out! I mowed the lawn yesterday afternoon, and when I got home from work (at 3am this morning), I was thinking to myself "hmm looks like the lawn needs mowed". I'm just going to attribute that to sleepiness and it being so dark that I couldn't see the lawn very well.

I've been behaving very well this past week in a last minute effort to (at the minimum) maintain the weight I've got. It sure would be nice to have a bit more wiggle room in my clothes as I'm sure I'll put it on and a few more by the time I get back home. Gum and water have been my constant companions!

It's been so quiet with just the 2 of us lately Jenn! I wonder how Opa and Carley are making out!

Wow, that is a lot of planting Steph!!  But at least that part is done right?!  I bet you really toned up your muscles doing that sort of work.

I'm not sure where everyone is....I've had a bad weekend, it's like as soon as I see a loss on the scale I think I can eat everything in sight.  Not sure what my weight will be this morning ..but probably not great.  Only 2 weeks til the fitting, I really need to shape up.

When do you leave for your trip?

So last week I was 136.5, this week 142!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  How can that be possible?

Today

B: Yogurt, Banana (~180)

S: Pear (~50)

L: 8 Melba toast w/tuna salad (~300)

S: Apple Sauce (50)

D: No idea - around 700 cals

I'm sure it's just water weight, Jenn.  There's definitely been a downward trend in your weekly weigh ins.  You're doing great!

I on the other hand have been steadily gaining weight...and I'll be going out of town soon (for the rest of summer) to my grandma's house aka land of good food.

Today: 137  (but it's also ttom)

My hope is to get back to 130 (my starting weight) by the end of summer.  Must...Have...Self...Control!
