Post Meals, Share Information, Weigh in every Monday! Everyone welcome
Hi Everyone,
*So I've revised this group because I want to be able to share information, get ideas, and be held accountable. I think by having more members that I will benefit more from it!
Since there are a lot of us Maritimers here I thought I would create a group where we can connect and have weekly weigh-ins. I'm also going to track my inches because losing inches is my main target right now.
I'll be posting my starting stats tomorrow morning and we'll have the weekly weigh-in every Monday! Maybe this will help us curve our weekend appetites :)
Please add anything else you wish to share ..i.e receipes, daily menu, workouts etc.
Jenn (NS)
Wk 2: 137.5
Wk 3: 135.5
Wk 4: 135.5
Ah well, at least I didn't go up! Since it is end of term (in my third year of my bachelor's degree) so my goal til after exams is to not gain... afterwards I can focus on losing.

Sarah, do you make your pizza yourself or buy frozen? Those spicy potatoes sound delish! I almost never eat potatoes anymore :( I miss them! It doesn't really help matters that my Dad (who lives next door) is a potato farmer and he stores them in my cellar. The redeeming thing about living on a farm though, my parents and I have a strawberry business, so I eat a ton of strawberries when they're in season.
I make my own. I almost never buy anything pre-made... and I find making it myself I have the freedom of throwing in anything I have a craving for. I've been told recently bananas taste great on pizza... so I sappose I will be trying that soon
The strawberries sound delish. I don't get to eat strawberries all that often since they are so expensive and I'm usually too busy to go home to the country to go to a u-pick :P
I'm tired today and don't really feel like doing anything- literally! But, I have my laptop beside my bike, so I made a deal with myself, if I want to go online, I have to bike at the same time.
B- cheerios, 1% milk, flaxseed
L- chili and nacho chips
Supper- probably w/w pasta, mixed veg and chicken strips
Snacks- apple with PB, mandarin orange
Maybe I feel blah because it's rainy and foggy, what an energy sapper!
Sarah, I was just noticing the background in your pic- was that taken at Crabbe? The last time I went was...oh man, around 15 years ago! I should try to make it there next winter, although if there was ever a time to go, this would've been the season due to the crazy snow fall amount!
I hear ya on being tired Steph...I'm having a VERY blah day, I did yesterday too. I'll tell ya I felt so yucky yesterday morning and this morning...hopefully I'll keep that in mind next time I decide I want to stuff my face with garbage :(
B: Banana, ww english muffin w/pb
S: Carrots

Do any of you ladies have Facebook??????? I'm sooo addicted :)
AND I have to stop getting sweets at the cafe I frequently study at. My diet today was terrible!
2 huge coffees
3 cups of herbal tea
2 big oat-date cakes
6" veggie sub from subway with cheese and sauce
I doubt I overate strictly calorie-wise, but seriously... most my calories today came from oat-date cakes and coffee!
ok, I can't even get into what I've been eating lately... there's too much to log... but, here goes..

today wasn't so hot for me either. too busy all day to have a real meal.
breakfast - oatmeal
lunch - plain bagel with cream cheese
snack - odwalla protein bar
dinner - blueberry bagel, apple, baby carrots, soup
snack - applesauce, pumpkin w/ cinnamon
and its past midnight and I have a serious case of the munchies. I have a few more hours of work to do. Hopefully I can make it. I've been so good about my midnight rule!!
as you can see, bagels are my go-to food. terrible calorie-wise, but oh so good!
also, the pumpkin didn't taste as good as I expected, haha. I read on forums (and on hungrygirl) that it was just like pumpkin pie! but it had a strange sour taste to it.
It's finally starting to feel like spring- I haven't worn a coat for a few days now, I'm hoping that the weather keeps up like this!
Yesterday was a good day for me, I didn't eat everything that I could've (which is a real switch for me) and I logged 950 calories on my bike. That shows how much time I spent on the computer! Here's hoping for another good day today :)
B- cheerios, 1%milk, flaxseed
L- chicken sandwich on multigrain, side salad, apple with PB
Supper- w/w pasta, mixed veg, beef strips
Snacks- mandarin orange, rice crackers, apple, carrots with dip
Jenn, I'm with you on the Facebook thing, I spend way too much time surfing here, Facebook, and Kijiji.ca.
10bysummer, does your screen name mean that you want to lose 10pds by summer? You must have very little extra weight to spare as it is! :)
Spring, YAY! I am with you on that Steph...I really hope the nice weather sticks. I actually got out for a run last night if you can believe it :)
I did really good Monday and yesterday..and noticed the change in the scale this morning, back to 138.5. I'd really like to see something less than that soon...I have yet to break 138 and I can't even tell you how long its been since I've been in the 130's period! Here's what I have on the go today.
B: 1 1/3 cup of whole grain honeycombs w/skim milk, found these at the store last night and YUM, activia raspberry yogurt.
S: Banana
L: Light n' Lean ham slice on Bran bread with lf swiss and mayo, carrot sticks, and grapes
S: 8 crackers (160 cals)
D: Not sure yet but probably either chicken or beef strips with veggies and rice
Evening: Green tea
I'm going to run again tonight, felt so good...along with my walk to work this morning, and home tonight and my walk with Molly moo moo :) Maybe some weights but I doubt I'll find time.
Have a great day everyone!
Jenn, you went OUTSIDE to run??? Oh my goodness! lol, just walking next door to my parents house today, the driveway was so slick with ice I would've done better to lace the skates up to head over! And windy! At one point, I was standing on the rink, I mean driveway, and the wind was blowing against the kids and I so hard it was sliding us backwards!
Thats awesome about being back to 138.5! I'm hoping that with the changing of the weather I'll get out more as well.
Yeah, outside! It was very windy here but no ice...our snow is pretty well gonzo...thank goodness :) My Fiance said that with all this wind it means our jetstream is changing which could mean spring !!!
Today is going to be rough.
B: Granola Bar, Banana
S: Activia Yogurt
L: Not sure, going to lunch with my boss and a client
S: Dry ww honeycomb cereal
D: Pizza...My friend is coming over to talk wedding stuff so we are ordering out!
Only going to get my walking in today :(
Last night we christened our new TV by watching Pirates of the Caribbean (3), and of course what is a movie without snacks...I had 3 slices of homemade pizza and cheesies.
Todays menu:
B- shreddies, 1% milk, flaxseed
L- chili and nacho chips, salad
Supper- rice, mixed veg, strips of chicken
Snacks- apple, mandarin orange, 1 chips ahoy cookie, 1 Reece Easter egg
I took a Sarah Lee choc chip cheesecake out of the freezer a couple of days ago and because the darn thing can't be refrozen, it's been sitting in the fridge taunting me every time I open the door. I haven't had a whole slice of it, but there's a fork in there with it and a few times a day I have one bite...it is getting considerably smaller, all because of my "just one bite"'s. I'm half tempted to throw it out :(
I won't though.
arg.
Ohhhh new tv!! Nice :) I was kinda bad last night too, but still stayed within my calorie range, I ate 2 chocolate chunk cookies and they were soooo good. Steph, I really think you should feed that cheese cake to your kids or hubby tonight, need to get it OUT of the house :p
I was out for lunch today as I mentioned earlier, I started off good...had grilled salmon with salad and it was great and filling but then my boss wanted dessert and I was like...NO haha Then she thought maybe we should share...so anyway, point being I ate half a hot brownie with chocolate mint ice cream, don't even want to know how many cals...and I still have take out pizza to deal with tonight, so scary ;)
Oh, that dessert sounds really really good! I permitted myself 5 cheesies for dessert after supper tonight. What I made for the fam? Giant Pillsbury caramel covered cinnamon rolls. Do you have any idea how many calories are in those suckers??!! I avoid them like the plague! (But I did lick the knife after I spread the caramel on...)
I tried to get hubby to eat that cheesecake but he just smiled sweetly and said no thanks dear. It's sabotage I tell you! haha
Hey Jenn, see if Greco still has that takeout deal where you get pizza, garlic fingers and carrot/celery sticks! Back in the days when we would get that for takeout, the veggies often got tossed...how bad is that!
I've been doing fairly well these past few days but my weight is going up (according to my crazy scale). It's a bit disappointing, so I put my scale away for now.
queenmedia - what are cheesies? I'm curious because it doesn't sound like a dessert.
I'm from Texas (and go to school in Boston) so maybe thats why I've never heard of them.
You all are so good about exercising! You put me to shame, haha. 900+ calories on the bike though? Yowza, was that over 2 hours? I usually only burn about 400-450 per hour in the bike.
Good job ladies!
To answer your question, no, 10 is too much.
I would like to lose five and then start to build back up with muscle. I have a belly, and I'm not sure where the heck it came from but i have one.
Also, one of the things I resent the most about weight loss is how much my breasts have suffered! I used to be a D cup (I didn't like being that big) but my point is that now that I've lost the weight (35lbs), my breasts are very saggy. I'm only 25, so this has been disheartening.
Anyone have similar drawbacks?

Haha, no, cheesies aren't your typical dessert fare- they're cheesies, you know, like Cheetos (I think you have that brand in the US...?) big orange puffy things! In the chip aisle. I was to Boston twice this fall and while I don't remember seeing them, I don't remember not seeing them.
About the bike- as a stay at home mom, I've got lots of time to spend on the computer (too much time really!), which is set up beside my bike, so if I'm online I'm biking at the same time. I get about the same hourly burn as you do! (sometimes less because if I'm really into typing or reading my biking slows to a crawl)
10by, last summer at my lowest weight I was 109pds (5'6") and although my belly was mostly flat, it was not firm (partly due to 3 kids?) so I know what you mean. Try doing some core exercises using weights and a stability ball for your stomach area. As far as advice for the chest, I have none. Chest or advice! :S Congrats BTW on your weight loss!
10bysummer,
have you tried firming creams or lotions with copper in them? I don't actually know anything about them at all, but maybe those will help. Also, I'm sure it's not as bad as you think and at 25 your body will adjust pretty quickly. Congrats on the weight loss!! ![]()
queenmedia, cheetos!
another one of my food downfalls. gosh, there seem to be a lot of those.
oh, and to update, I've definitely broken the midnight snacking rule these past few days. seriously though, the combination of really late nights and homework is just a GIANT snack craving. maybe I should work on my sleep and work habits too, haha.

I hear ya on the chest issue. I didn't have much to begin with and now that I'm losing weight all of it is coming from my chest :( Oh well.....my fiance doesn't care and if he doesn't care than neither do I! Congrats on losing the weight though...its never easy!
On a happier note, I saw 137.5 on the scale this morning!!! woooohooo :) I haven't gotten down below 138 so I'll take it :) I ended up getting frozen pizza's last night and frozen garlic fingers from the Superstore.....very yummy, half the cost and I only ate one piece of each and I was stuffed :) I was very happy with myself.
B: Grapes, dry cereal (lazy this morning)
S: Carrots
L: slice of pizza cut in 2
S: FF choc pudding
D: Not sure!
Heading to Parrsboro again this weekend to celebrate my Mom's Bday with her :) Might be heading to NB to do some shopping if the weather is good...I heard they are calling for more snow!! BOOOO
