Post Meals, Share Information, Weigh in every Monday! Everyone welcome

Quote  |  Reply

Hi Everyone,

*So I've revised this group because I want to be able to share information, get ideas, and be held accountable.  I think by having more members that I will benefit more from it!

Since there are a lot of us Maritimers here I thought I would create a group where we can connect and have weekly weigh-ins.  I'm also going to track my inches because losing inches is my main target right now.

I'll be posting my starting stats tomorrow morning and we'll have the weekly weigh-in every Monday!  Maybe this will help us curve our weekend appetites :)

Please add anything else you wish to share ..i.e receipes, daily menu, workouts etc.

Jenn (NS)

Opa, glad things went well at the nutrionist!

And yep, shaved my head. I always wanted to but figured the older I got the more chicken I would get. I had to sing at a friends wedding and 2 days later shaved it all off. I was glad I did it, just for the experience. I looked like a boy going through chemo though! haha And about my hair appt yesterday- oy. I went to a hairdressing school because the price is crazy good. Well now I know why! The highlights went great, I now have bright red in my hair (love it!), but the haircut, while good, was not exactly what I wanted, so not good. After my in-laws left, I got out the scissors and started trimming.

Carley, I find it soo hard to give cake away, because I simply rationalize it until I end up keeping and eating the whole thing. So here's what you do: give BIG pieces to everyone at the party so that by the time the company is gone, so is the cake (maybe save 1 piece for your daughter to have the next day). Really sell that cake- "can I get you seconds, no really, TAKE IT!!" lol

also, take a middle piece of cake so there's less icing.  I personally don't really like the icing anyway (too sweet), and usually scrape it off or only eat a bit, and it saves lots of calories, I'm sure.

not having a great day calorie-wise, but I'm not too worried

bfast- blueberry bagel

snack - glazed donut (it was free! i couldnt help it!)

lunch - luna bar, nature valley bar, iced tea

haha, lots of sugar so far.
I'm planning on working out today (unless my legs start hurting again), so I'll work it off.

plan for dinner - chicken salad, piece of baguette

snack - another iced tea?

I wouldn't be able to pass up a free donut either...

B- 1C Raisin Bran Crunch, 1%milk, flaxseed

Supper- 2 slices of multigrain bread with butter and maple syrup

Snacks- apple with PB, moccaccino bar, 1 Chips Ahoy cookie, 4 bites of carrot cake

Exercise- 995 cals on bike

All of this has been eaten/done for today. Here's hoping I don't get snacky tonight! ;)

coffee w/ half & half

S: Diced Pears

L: Cup of Soup, Activia Yogurt

D: ???

 Hi Ladies,

Sorry, I haven't been around much!!  I have had a busy week/weekend.  School Thursday, Friday, Saturday and then I worked the Saltscapes Expo on Sunday...so before I even get to my weight I'm sure you can all guess I ate a lot of food this weekend and most of it wasn't good for me!! But .....I'm ok with it, those things happen sometimes.

Weight this AM: 139 so I did go up but I had lost a lot of weight from being sick, so it's alllllllll good :)

Congrats on the weight loss Opa, it's nice to see a new # isn't it??  And Steph, horrray for saggy jeans lol.

Here's my day:

B: Nature Valley Apple Crunch Granola Bar, handful of almonds

No snack, in meetings all morning

L: Huge container of broccoli, green pepper, red pepper, cucumbers, zucchini and 2 tsps of Greek Salad Dressing, about 8 cubes of smoked gouda and about 15 Multi grain wheat thins

S: Activia Yogurt

D: Probably pasta or rice with veggies and laughing cow :)

Haha opa, as much as I love shopping, there's no new jeans coming anytime soon- I'm really excited as the prospect of fitting into all of the "skinny" jeans I already have! I have 2 piles of jeans. The fits and the fits not. The fits not pile was way bigger than  the fits, and I'm glad that they're starting to even out a bit! :) Great news on your newest lowest number! (does that even make sense?...) Also great that you're able to do some exercise again!

Carley, I think I'm with you on the monthly extravaganza! Yesterday was a completely blown day for me, but I'm okay with it! BTW, I was looking at your pics the other day, and holy smokes, you've got the flattest stomach I think I've ever seen!!  please, please tell me you're on maintenance!! lol

The good news is this Jenn- the weight that was lost probably wasn't fat or inches, but fluids, so now that you can handle fluids and foods again, you can pick up where you left off and carry on!! :)

I've heard a lot of people sing the praises of laughing cow- is it hard ice cream or what? Low fat/cal? What can you tell me about it? If it's sweet and close to the real thing and low cal, I'm there!

Another day of running around town = another day of coffee and eating out

B- 1C Raisin Bran Crunch, 1/2C 1%milk (check)

L- Chicken yakisoba (check)

Supper- chicken sandwich on multigrain, great big salad with 2-3Tbsp low cal dressing

Snacks- med dbl dbl, moccaccino bar, apple with PB (had some rice crackers and chips, ugh)

This will take me to 1597.

Exercise- 600 cals on bike. (check)

I feel really blah today- must be a combination of the rainy day and TTOM...

didnt have a good day.  I won't go into details, but basically I was busy all day and barely ate anything until 6pm.  Then it was free cone day at Ben and Jerry's and pizza and cookies and other not so healthy things.

Tomorrow will be better.  Since I'm busy from 6-10:30pm, I'm thinking about eating an early "dinner" around 4pm and then having lots of fruit (200 cals) when I get back at 10:30.
I'm a bit worried that I'll eat the majority of my calories during the day, but still be ravenous when I get back and overeat.  At the same time, eating dinner so late causes my binging.  I'll just have to trust myself with an early supper.

It's rainy here too! (or it was) and now it's cold again, boo.

Rainy day here again today!  Blah...I hate the rain, it just puts me in a yucky mood.  Not sure if you ladies saw my post in the food forum but I've fallen off the wagon and am having a hard time getting back on.  I haven't been eating well at all since the weekend, can't get back into the swing of things :(  I'm going to get some groceries tonight though...so let's hope I can get back at it.

Not much on the go today food wise...

B: Oatmeal to go Bar

S: nothing :(

L: slice of left over pizza from last night (tomatoes, feta, broccoli and mushrooms)

S: Activia Yogurt

D: ?  Maybe some bbq chicken and rice or salad

Jenn, everytime you think about satisfying a craving and you're not even hungry, just remember how it felt to have people notice your weight loss! Think about how fabulous you'll feel in your wedding dress and how nice it'll be to put on a bikini and look amazing in it! When you get your groceries tonight, go with a full stomach, and load up on the fruits, veggies, and lean meats. When I shop and see something that really tempts me, I say in my head "If I get it, I'll eat it". I can usually walk away from it (only if I'm not hungry). Don't give up!! Look back at some of your earlier posts and decide "today that's what I'll eat to the letter, and rain or shine Molly and I are walking tonight".

Opa, I know exactly what you're talking about with eating a lot of your calories during the day and not leaving much of a "security net" just in case for the end of the day...last night I ended up eating chips that I didn't have a "net" for, and I wasn't even hungry I don't think. Hubby brought them home so therefore I ate them. Here's hoping for a chip free day!

B/L (I slept in very late today)- 1C Raisin Bran Crunch, 1/2C 1%milk, flaxseed, apple with PB

Supper- chicken sandwich on multigrain, big salad with 2-3Tbsp low cal dressing

Snacks- apple with PB, moccaccino bar

Exercise- trying for 800 cals on the bike... I don't feel very motivated today though :

I haven't been eating well either. Period + crappy weather + birthday = no bueno.

Yesterday!

PB&J & applesauce

Tangerines

Drumstick (Ahhhh!!! The icecream kind! So good!)

Prunes

Taco Salad w/ ground turkey

approx 1600

Still so period & so hungry! Must... have... willpower...

Ok, so I'm feeling better about today.  I just got home a bit ago from getting groceries and I spent an hour there reading every label and really taking my time.  I still got a few indulgences but very good ones I think.  Some skinny cow ice cream sandwiches (170 cal), Dark Chocolate (170 cals/3 BIG squares ), 100 cal pack bits and bites and 100 cal packs of popcorn!  I got lots of veggies and fruit and some lean meats, veggie hotdogs, tuna, salmon, chicken...should be good.

I ended up eating a toasted chicken sandwich with mustard and veggies and a BIG salad with lots of veggies and some new dressing I got, Mandarin Seasame!! Very yummy :)

Yay!! :)

That's awesome Jenn! Glad to hear that you're getting some good stuff and back on it!

Me, I'm exercising more tonight because I feel like eating, need more deficit! haha

Haha, it's not that I have the energy Jenn, it's just a matter of what motivates me...in this case I wanted to eat chips! Therefore the extra exercise!!

B- 1C Raisin Bran Crunch, 1/2C 1%milk, flaxseed

L- Chicken and cheese sandwich, moccaccino bar

Supper- whatever Moms dishin' up, some sort of Shake n Bake chicken, potatoes, carrots, peas

Are you having flooding problems where you all live? Schools and businesses are closing here and something like 300 homes have been evacuated...
