Hi everyone. I was wondering what I should do. For the last three weeks I have been on a diet of 1200-1400 calories and I exercise every day for 50-60 min. Even though I really haven't lost much weight, I'm feeling so much better about my lifestyle choices and my overall health. But, I just underwent surgery (removal of a vaginal cyst, sorry if this is too much information!). I have stitches, some bleeding, and there is cramping when I don't take my medicine (which I try to avoid). I am not supposed to put any strain on my body. I really don't want to stop exercising completely. Even just as a mind set thing, I'm afraid that lethargy will discourage me so much that I'll end up going back to my old bad habits. Does anyone have any post-op suggestions? The doctor never said specifically not to walk, but the nurse said that I should hold off on exercise. Would a nice brisk walk be considered too strenuous? I know I should be asking my doctor these questions, and I will. But I was wondering if anyone might have any tips in the meantime.
Think of it this way--say you can't exercise for four weeks. But you do anyway and perhaps tear open your incision. Now you are looking a much longer exercise restriction. I know from personal experience that those restrictions really do matter.
the female body is so very delicate!
adheed to the docs manuscript for the time being. it is not forever. just something good for your own best interest at the moment. he will give you the green light when he thinks your body is ready.
