I Second Sara's motion!

OK.  i'm hurt and it sucks and what do i do now?

actually.  it is just a shoulder mussel strain, and it is getting better... but i am still using the sling... probably will for the rest of this week.  i am already thinking about competing again in January... i need women to work out with.  I am trying to figure out how to make that happen.  and i just don't know how long i will have to sit out.  the thought of it is driving me nuts.

i plan to be sedntary this week.  go back to the gym next week.  go back to the kid's practices the week after... i hope.  Maybe by sometime in November or December i can go to Adult practice again.  I will have to find a way to kick it up a notch if i am going to compete again.

oh... you meant people who aren't me, huh?

OK POST PEOPLE POST!

Yes, post people post!

Hmm, what can you do that doesn't aggravate your shoulder? I'm thinking riding a recumbent bike...don't need to balance too much.  Treadmill, lunges, squats, leg press and other isolation machines although you'll have to be careful of both your form and balance.  Work on just the footwork for techniques on your own...this might not work as to get good form I think you have to rotate.

Maybe add some pineapple to your diet as that is a natural anti-inflammatory...so is ginger, but it's not advised for those pregnant or wanting to get pregnant as there's an issue with the placental walls.  Take some glucosamine supplements perhaps?

I think you can ice and heat the shoulder, not sure what else you do with that kind of strain other than let it rest a lot.
