Quote  |  Reply
Heres a fun idea that is sure to help a lot of people! Post a restaurant or fast food place with at least 3 healthy items on their menu! Post calorie/fat info if youd like.

Heres an example:

Chick-fil-a:

1 Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich (280 calories, 3 fats. - very filling and delicious!)

1 Small Side Salad (50 calories, [30 taking the cheese off!] .5 fats)

1 Pack BBQ Sauce (45 calories)

1 Italian Dressing for Salad (10 cals per serving!)

Panera Bread:

Low-fat Vegetarian Garden Vegetable Soup = only 90 calories.

Garden veggie sandwich on ciabatta bread =570k, but is enough to eat twice. You can also do a 1/2 sand and soup deal.

Fuji Apple Chicken Salad = 284. (I'm veg, so I obviously don't eat this one,but it looks nice).

Black Bean Soup =160k, and VERY filling.

Okay this sounds weird, but on the Wendy's dollar menu. I get a side salad (its listed as 35 calories) and then i get a small chili (listed at 220) and dump most of it on top of the salad. It tastes really good and you can't hardly eat it all! So its a whole filling meal at 255 calories. If you don't want to dump the chili on top like me, I am sure its just as good seperate - lol....OH and its 2 dollars plus tax...how do you beat that???

haha that actually sounds quite delicious and something i will give a try. :)

Rubios:

1 healthmex mahimahi taco - 180 calories, 3 fats

small side pinto beans - 110 cals, 1.5 fats

yum! ;)

PANDA EXPRESS!!!

mushroom chicken  (130 calories)

broccoli beef (150 calories)

Steamed Veggies (70 calories)

BOSTON MARKET!

Roast Turkey

Green Beans

Low Fat Garlic Dill New Potatoes

(Don't eat the cornbread!)

good one molly!!

mmm... panda express... mmm...

MMM... panda express's ORANGE CHICKEN... mmm...

if only it were healthy. :P

im still thinking about that wendys idea..

mmm, thanks again!

noodles and company...  their website has a really good list.  my favorites are the trio with japanese pan noodles or bangkok curry with shrimp and salad with fat free asian viniagrette (i really can't spell this).  neither is more than 400 calories!  very yummy, and i like to feel like i'm eating in a real, sit down restaurant for not too much money or calories :o)

wendy's ultimate chicken grill sandwich - 320 calories

side salad, fat free french dressing -  100 calories

water/diet coke - 0 calories

420 calories, and very tasty too. one of my on-the-go faves.

You guys might want to check out this website I just discovered:

 www.healthydiningfinder.com

It lists restaurants in your area and gives ideas of healthy menu items (with nutritional info).

thanks!

Panera Bread

low calorie chicken noodle soup - 100 calories

wheat baguette - 160 calories

I got this for lunch the other day and could not believe how stuffed I was. The soup was great too!

Check out: chowbaby.com for nutritional information on fast food sites. I found this on MSN one day and I live by it now.

i love tasti d lite.  100 different flavors.  70-100 calories per small.
Taco Bell - one bean and cheese burrito, 250 cals.

my fiance wont give up take out - so if we go to Subway, i substitute a sub into a salad.  i love the sweet onion chicken teriyaki turned into a  salad - just keep it light on the dressing.

I will also go to Wendy's with him to get the salad and chili - its awesome.

AT taco time - i can eat their chicken taco salad - just throw out the shell or ask them not to serve it to you.

Qdoba - tortilla soup, a flour tortilla and lots of hot sauce.  I estimate 350 calories.

Culver's - a single butterburger with lettuce/tomato/onion, no cheese, and a bowl of chicken noodle soup with lots of hot sauce.  I estimate 500 calories.

The hot sauce is essential.  Without it you can taste what you're eating.  The Wendys chili/salad idea sounds good, but I don't remember them having hot sauce.  I could bring some tabasco, though.  And maybe a tostada.
I too am a devotee of the wendy's chili.  I sometimes get the plain baked potato and dump the chili over that.  still cheep, can't eat the whole thing AND you still don't have to get out of your car!!!

I also like their mandarin chicken salad, but the dressing has the dreaded HFCS, so i usually water it down.  Somehow, in my head, that makes it better :P

When my hunger and lack of time completely overrides my understanding of the quality of chicken available at mcdonalds; those chipolte bbq snack wraps are $1.39 in our market and only 250 calories if 'grilled' instead of 'crispy'.   soo tasty
man, everyone is a fan of the wendys chili-salad!!
Panera's Black Bean Soup is very good(it tates like chili!) and it's no more than 200 calories, and only two grams of fat for a bowl serving.

Mc Donald's has the fruit and yogurt parfaits...although I'm sure they're loaded with unnatural stuff.

Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad is good, just leave off half the dressing and the toasted almonds. Their chili is okay if you get the smaller size, and they have baked potatoes and side salads too!

TGI Friday's has a whole 'Right Portion, Right Price' menu, and you get TONS of food for 500 calories or less for anything on that list. Everything on there also has appx. 10 grams of fat. My favorites are the Dragonfire Chicken and the Mahi-Mahi.

Chili's 'Guiltless Grill' menu is also pretty good...but crazy high in sodium. My favorite is the Vegetarian Black Bean Burger (sans the bun), with steamed broccoli and unbuttered corn on the cob. Very low cal, and very filling.

Taco Bell  spicy chicken soft taco - 170 calories.

I also agree with the Chick-fil-a chargrilled chicken sandwich - one of my absolute favorite healthy fast food items.

Panera bread is also fantastic.  Last time I had the chicken noodle soup and half asian chicken salad - can't wait to go back.  Fuji apple chicken salad is also a favorite of mine.

I'm going to have to checkout the Wendy's chili and salad combo.  I assumed that their chili wasn't that healthy.

actually the right portions menu is NOT all 500 calories or less, only the ones marked low fat or healthy eatting are 500 cal and 10 grams or less
