Potassium and Water Retention

Quote  |  Reply

K so it's that time of the month and I'm trying to reduce my water retention...I'm working out...reducing sodium intake...and drinking extra water.  I also know potassium decreases water retention.....right now the only high potassium food in my diet is bananas....does anyone know of any high potassium foods that are lower cal?

All meats, poultry and fish are high in potassium.

Apricots (fresh more so than canned)

Avocado

Cantaloupe

Honeydew

Kiwi

Lima beans

Milk

Oranges and orange juice

Potatoes

Prunes

Spinach

Tomatoes

Vegetable juice

Winter squash

I have been curious about this too. Do you think a potassium supplement would help with water retention during TOTM?

coconut water has VERY high potassium and VERY low in cal
