Are boiled potatoes with a pat of butter a good food to lose weight?
Answer
Potatoes are great for weight loss! Besides providing that feeling of fullness, they have only 160 calories and are packed with potassium, fiber, vitamin C, calcium, and magnesium – all nutrients we don’t get enough of. Potatoes are really one of the more nutritious foods on earth. Eat potatoes with the skin-on because the skin contains fiber and nutrients lie right under the skin. It is also better to bake and roast potatoes than to boil because nutrients leach into the cooking water. When you use butter, eat just a bit because it is high in saturated fat, and substitute with olive and canola oils whenever you can.
