Pregnancy and Calories needed per day?

Quote  |  Reply
I noticed when you take the life style questionnaire that you can check off different conditions.  Is there anyway to select calories for being pregnant, just curious.  Right now I'm only 5 or 7 weeks along so only trying to eat about 1900 to 2100 calories per day.  Really don't know how many I should be eating, but I am eating very clean and healthy.  Any advice would be helpful.

Here's a calculator to help determine your calorie needs.  Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for the calculator, I'm way off on my calories.  I'll be making changes.

My OB said when i was pregnant that i needed 300 more calories daily to support the growing fetus.  So i guess whatever you were eating before just add 300 more calories daily.  I didnt eat more than i normally did and didnt gain that much and my baby was born healthy and happy!!
I only gained about 28 pounds.

Hi, I'm about 5 weeks along too......This is my first pregnancy (well, if u dont count the mc I had last month...dont worry I'm fine).  I really want to stay fit and eat healthy throughout the pregnancy.  Hoping we can go through this journey together!
