pregnant by divine power??

For the past year or so, my periods have been quite inconsistent. Instead of falling within the same week of each month, they come a week or 2 before or after my last one.

I have also had times when I would skip 2 whole months before getting my period--and even then it would only last a couple of days.

This is happening again--I have not had my period since May 22nd. I am not anorexic; I weigh 120 at 5'6", I consume about 1,500-1,600 calories a day (and I am gradually upping my intake). If anything, I eat more NOW than I have in a long time.

The only conditions I have been able to find through doing some research is PCOS and hypopituitarism. Both conditions scare me. I am going to make an appointment with my doctor soon, but I'm just worried I will start like the day of my appointment!

Anyone have any ideas on what could be going on?

it might also be just stress, intense exercise, or other environmental factors... (: don't worry about it, just go to the doctor and see how it goes.

chance are, it's not anything big... My sis-in-law told me that her periods are pretty irregular as well, but it's not uncommon, and it only comes a month late max, so she's not particularly worried about it. she's also a doctor and is 6 months pregnant with her second kid (in two years! that says pretty much about fertility even with irregular periods, if that's something you're worried about.)

Do you have any of the other symptoms of PCOS? There are lots of reasons why you could be irregular...

Sorry...

To clarify things, I have most of the symptoms of hypopituitarism, but the PCOS guess was just because I knew it caused irregular periods.

My daily symptoms (whether they correspond to my period or not):

*Bolded symptoms are also associated with hypopituitarism

- Abdominal pain
- Irregular periods
- Decreased appetite
- Fatigue
- Lack of sex drive
- Low blood pressure
- Sensitivity to cold

- Slowed growth and sexual development (as a child)
- Weakness
- Weight loss

- Anxiety

- Depression

- Difficulty finding words

What other conditions do you all know of?

i laughed when i saw this thread name. i was hoping you really thought you were pregnant with the child of god. sorry though my best guess would be stress or too low of fat intake. even if you are eating enough calories you could be not eating enough fat.

Haha, yeah, I'm starting to think that's what it really is, when_i_fly! I don't understand why my period has disappeared!

For the past week or so, I have been limiting my fat intake because I was diagnosed with IBS. Although my new diet has really helped in that sense, I don't know if my other systems will be affected!

But, these period problems of mine have been going on for about a year or more, so I really don't know....

Anything??

how much fat do you get in a day?

i have ibs too but i usually get 25-30 grams.

I just did an analysis of my past month and CC says I get on average about 40g a day. I always get overall "A" ratings and I eat very healthy, but always make sure to have a balanced diet.

And just for an update: still no period :(

perhaps a visit to your doctor is in order.

Hey guys...

Check this out: I scheduled an emergency appointment yesterday with my gynecologist. They were able to slide me in where someone had canceled yesterday afternoon.

And wouldn't you know, an hour before my appointment, I started my period.

I guess I'll be giving them another call in about a week, eh?

Hello...

Just my opinion based on personal experience... You sound like my cycle... I don't really have one... comes and goes when it wants... sometimes missing 2 whole months, etc.  So, I know what you are going through.  If otherwise you are healthy, I don't think you should be worried.  There are plenty of other things that could cause an irregular period... as many others have already mentioned... stress, exercise, 'thinking about it', etc.  If you would be more comfortable seeing a doctor, then I think you should - but don't get too worried.

I am 30 and have 4 children... though my cycle has been inconsistent my whole life...
